Maurice. Then Sugarfoot imo. Sugar's is too overbearing then Maurice's to me. Maurice's is smooth and natural sounding. "when Im in those arms of yours I'm so gone"-With U/Janet

Here is something interesting from an interview with Sugar Foot. Q: You worked with Herbie Hancock on his "Perfect Machine" album (1988). Sugar: That came about because of a friend of mine named Bootsy Collins in Cincinatti who I used to play with for years, playing together in different bands. He got an opportunity to work with CBS and Herbie Hancock and Bill Laswell eventually decided to call me up. They had Larry Blackmon (Cameo) downstairs doing his next album in that studio in New York where I recorded (with Herbie Hancock). They thought it would be nice to get the real "aww" in there and so they called me up and it was really an experience because I had met Larry Blackmon in the elevator in New York and he was quite shocked to see me.

Good thread. Leroy "Sugarfoot" Bonner OWNS this. Larry comes in second. Don't forget about Lionel with the mid 70's Commodores. He had a preety good one. For some reason, I never cared for Maurice's. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

Man, Ohio was a SERIOUS hot bed for funk, wasn't it? Leroy, Bootsy, and Roger/Zapp? Damn. Can u see having an album with all three of them on there together? It came close. Obviously with Bootsy and Roger on "More Bounce". And on Sugarfoot's album from 85, Roger guested. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

Since it's mostly credited to Sugarfoot, I have to vote for The Ohio Players bandmember. After that, Larry Blackmon of Cameo. THE TRAFFIC JAMMERS, The Org's house band: VAINANDY -- lead singer; NAJEE -- bass; THE AUDIENCE -- guitar; PHUNKDADDY -- rhythm guitar; ALEX de PARIS -- keyboards; Da PRETTYMAN -- keyboards; FUNKENSTEIN -- drums. HOLD ON TO YOUR DRAWERS!

What about teddy riley's owwww on spend the night and gotta get with you
during his guy days? My friends used to always tease me because they knew i liked any song with owwww in it. I still say larry dodson's the best. His was very distinctive. I would also have to vote for sugarfoot because he was the first one to make it cool. Honorable mention goes to michael cooper of CONFUNKSHUN! Don't laugh at my funk
