OMG, I Ma used to always play that album during dinner when we were young. Stephanie WORE the Dorothy role like a glove,,,,she should've been the leading actress in the movie but you know the rest The movie was good though,,,,my only complaint was Diana's involvement. But the rest were good,,,esp Mabel boy, that woman used to give me the freaks,,,something about her role reminded me of the muppets and THEY too gave me the freaks back in the day.

It's weird because when the film was release it was panned by the critics, but now it's like a cult film. I too felt Stephanie Mills should have played Dorothy rather than Diana. Stephanie would have gel well with Michael, because at the time they were quite close.

I loved "The Wiz" One of my favorite parts was the Scarecrow scene with Michael singing "You Can't Win" Man did they ever cast that role right. MJ as a non-scary scarecrow.

I actually cant imagine Diana Ross not being in the film version.

To each its own, I guess.
I think the whole hollywood production complimented her presence rather than the other way around. In plain Enlgish: No substance at all.

It's been showing on VH1 Classic all weekend. I had forgotten how good Michael was in it--in terms of moving and dancing like a scarecrow.
