Barry Gibb - the Demos

Barry Gibb has been releasing demos on iTunes.

Last week he released the songs he wrote for Diana Ross's Eaten Alive, this collection was missing the title track and Chain Reaction

This week, he released the songs he wrote for Barbara Streisand's Guilty, and this collection includes two tracks that didn't make it on the album

For me, the highlight has been the previously unreleased Secrets, which is vintage Bee Gees (and co-written with Robin).

Are any of these gonna be included in the remastered series?

I am a woman in love
And I do anything
To get you into my world
And hold you within
Its a right I defend
Over and over again
What do I do?

He's talking about the bee gees re-mastered series that starts coming out next month and does have quite a bit of previously unreleased and previously unmastered music - a full CD's worth to go with each real CD that is being remastered. Check out the first release - The Studio Albums 1967-1968

I suspect some demos would be included in this series, but I don't think that would include the demos currently being released as despite the fact there are some full fledged Bee Gees songs like Secrets, those were not from actual Bee Gees projects.

falloff

I saw these demos at a record fair (shhh) years ago and I wish I'd snapped them up then. I've always been intrigued to hear Barry's version of 'Woman In Love'. giggle

Guilty is a perfect song. love

the other two demos are now on iTunes

Demos from
"Eyes that See In the Dark" - written for Kenny Rogers
"Heartbreaker" - written for Dionne Warwick

4 sets of demo recordings in all. These are a must have for any Bee Gees fan. Many of these "demos" are full fledged Bee Gees songs. Of the 4 sets, Eyes that See In the Dark is probably the best - this could have easily been released, as is, as a full fledged Bee Gees album.
