AWB kicks Jamiriquou's (sp? having a brain fart right now) ass!

I just started listening to them 3 years ago and man, they are funky. Right up there with Rufus.

Their 1976 song "A Love Of Your Own" is my favorite!! I never get enough of that song.

I saw them live this year and they still kick ass ... absolutely amazing band to see live ... can't wait for them to come to London again.

Yes biggrin ... plus all the usual hits and an amazing version of Cut The Cake. Darryl Hall joined them onstage to sing a Marvin Gaye song (What's Going On if I remember correctly). It was a really great night.

To those of you who don't own any of their music,I strongly suggest you pick up their 1976 album 'Soul Searching'.The first two tracks---"Love Your Life" and "I'm The One"---are incredible funk jams that sizzle! The song "Queen Of My Soul" is a mesmerizing, jazzy workout. The highlight on this album would have to be the moody,slow-grinding "A Love Of Your Own",a song which has been covered by numerous other artists. The title track ("Soul Searching") is outstanding.

If anyone has XM Radio, on The Groove channel 64, they have a 2 hour special on AWB airing, I think, all this week. It has interviews with them about the music, and, of course, the GREAT music!! Check it out!

Average White Band - Show Your Hand

"Show Your Hand" is the dope title track off AWB's 1973 debut. This album was reissued as Put It Where You Want It in 1975, which is probably the second best cut on there.
