Flavor Flav's Album

I bought this cd and it is quite a trip. He's actually singing on some of the songs and raps on the rest. I must say, I actually like it! It has a old skool hip hop vibe to it which appeals to me but the songs aren't meant be taken seriously. He reminds me of ODB at times or maybe it's the other way around since Flav was around first. Anyone else got this? Your thoughts please?

I definitely don't plan on buying this garbage! Don't get me wrong, he's a talented producer and multi-instrumentalist and he's the greatest hypeman in the business, but why would he do another album after his last couple of albums sold poorly and disappointed many Public Enemy fans? I guess it was to support that Flavor Of Love show... I wonder how Chuck D and the crew are reacting to this?

I have'nt heard the album, But I did see the video for the first single when they played it during the reunion special for "Flavor Of Love. I got one question for you Dancerella. Is the rest of the album better then that piece of S*** song? Cause both the video and the song SUUUCKED real bad. I mean, on one of the verses, He made a rhyme and ended it with "Shimmy Shimmy Ko Ko Pop". And all the video showed was him and the Hootchie Mamas from the show. The reunion special was funny though. Especially when the Chickenheads all tried to jump New York onstage towards the end lol

well some of the songs are better and some may be worse. when i say it's not meant to be taken seriously i mean the guys is a jokester as we all know. so the songs are funny. yes, the video was complete shite with all them hoes from the show in it but atleast he can play several instruments and produced the damn thing.

Yes Flav is very talented. He proved that during "The Surreal Life" When he played Bass, Drums and keyboard throughout the show. As a matter of fact, The song they all made together would've turned out much better had they let Flav be the producer rather then Jordan Knight from New Kids On The Block". I also like the way Flav dances. I can't describe his style but it has me cracking up everytime I see it.

I thought he recorded an independent album after he got out of jail back in 1998 or 1999, but it eventually got cancelled? So, in some ways this can be both a debut or sophmore record...

oh my god, I watched that Flavor of Love Reunion Special the other night and they gave a little sample of his album. If his whole album sounds like that shit they showed on t.v, then I think I'll pass lol Those women really did act like fuckin' barbaric animals on that special....throwing shit on stage, running up on stage about to fight.....fight over something so petty at that. lol That one woman, Sapphire or whatever her name is, the one who was forced to leave for fighting in the very first episode really had no business trying to fight New York. Is 15 minutes of fame really worth being an ass for ratings. lol I just saw where that same woman is gonna be on The Tyra Banks Show about racism. So she must really be hard up for T.V time.

Yeah, that's the one. Maybe she's just greedy for attention and will do anything to be on a show. shrug Either way, I think it's kinda dumb. lol I hope I don't forget to watch that Tyra show today. I usually don't watch her show unless it's about topics like racism or abuse....serious topics.

I have a question for the women of color on the org. Do. you feel that "The Flavor Of Love" is a misrepresentation of Black women in America? Anyone not knowing any better would swear up and down that Sisters, Don't have their own hair, Have uncontrollable tempers, Call each other Bitches, Will $#!T on the floor when there's a bathroom available, And have Mothers who act worse then they do. And yes Krazy and Buckwylde, The two white girls on the show are just as ignorant as the others. It's just that the majority of black women that I know would never stoop to that level of behavior, And that includes my own mother and my three sisters

Thats a good question. Sometimes the only impression that people in other countries get of americans is what they see on tv.
