“Train in Vain” – The Clash & Annie Lennox

I haven`t heard the original version, but i LOVE Annie Lennox` cover love
That whole album was brilliant, and i seriously think her cover of "Whiter shade of pale" is much better than the original.... nod

I adore that album as well. nod Annie's one of the only artists who can make an album of covers that sound completely cool. cool But you should really really check out The Clash's original version of "Train In Vain." I'm surprised you haven't heard it, actually.

Who's Lovin' You - The Miracles / Jackson 5

Michael's vocals on the J5 version is absolutely one of the most stunning vocal performances of all time. mushy

nod So much so that, as much as I love Smokey, I'd say the J5 version is the definitive one.

This made me think of "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart." I fell in love with Al Green's version as a teenager, and never knew that it was a cover of the Bee Gees song until much later. I still prefer Al's, but they're definitely two different takes on a heartbreakingly beautiful song.

Both are nice but The Rev's version does it for me also.
