Is Bilal's career OVER?

Is Bilal coming out with the new cd or is his career done?

Bilal's one of those cats, kinda like Van who REALLY needs to be on an indie label. As great as he is, he's just too far off the beaten path for the kinda R&B shit that gets played on the radio these days. He doesn't make hip hop/R&B stuff, so he's not gonna get promoted. He's really talented though, which is a shame, because, like Van, if he could get a little promotion, he'd probably get over.

Did his career ever really start? Bilal never seemed to pick up momentum. His album had some nice Prince-inspired songs on it. However, from what I recall, that brother needs to get his head right. He holds the distinction of being the only artist whose live show I ever walked out on in disgust. I saw him before his album was officially released at the ParkWest in Chicago. Jaguar Wright opened for him, but given his "performance," she should have been the main act. I don't know what was going on with him that night, but he seemed completely off his rocker. Even his band members looked genuinely annoyed and confused by his behavior.

What was he doing that made you think he was off his rocker? Was it like when he was on Letterman?

He just seemed out of it. He was drifting off during the performance and throwing the musicians off. He would just start talking crazy - incoherent rambling - and staring into space. He was running around on stage and into the audience without any purpose. He was pullin girls on stage and feeling them up. It was just weird. I seriously thought he was on drugs.
