Jermaine Stewart

Any of you guys into him? Of course "we don't have to take our clothes off" was the jam along with "jody" about his good friend jody watley but how about the rest of his stuff? i just ordered an earlier album of his called "the word is out". any of you ever own this? it's described as electro dance pop which is what i love!

Jermaine was cool...Actually a good friend of my brothers named Preston Glass wrote "clothes off". That first album of his "Frantic Romantic" was easily one of my favorites. I still have the cassette somewhere but want 2 find the cd someday...

I have The Word Is Out on 45, and the Frantic Romantic album on tape. I also have the 12" single for Say It Again, now I want the whole album, that's my next quest.

Yeah, i got "frantic romantic" on tape. Its pretty average clattery rnb/pop. Sounds really dated now, not that iam fussed. Its just so-so to me.

"say it again" is still a good song though.

Thats the thing. Andre produces at least a few of the tracks off "say it again" album, but they are obvious jody watley leftovers. Also, his stuff in general sounds like aerobics music, which is OK in small doses. "say it again" (the track) was not produced by him. "don't talk dirty" was a stupid track LOL. Remember that one?

He had a unique sounding voice, But It worked for the material he was doing. Jermaine was also in Kool & The Gang's video "Stone Love" He was a great dancer! I heard he died of AIDS. Too bad, He was very gifted.

Jermaine was one of a kind....He started out dancing on "Soul Train", I think. He and Jody became friends and then they had a misunderstanding and did not talk for awhile. He did some background vocal work with Culture Club,(that his voice you hear on, Time and I think Karma Chameleon). He died of an Aids related illness a few years back. My favorite songs were, Say it again, "The word is out". and a song called, Jody. I for one will miss him.

I have the 12 Inch of "The Word Is Out". I love it. It always reminded me a lot of "Beat Box" by Art Of Noise.
