the Era of the swingbeat..

it was the bomb... Tracks produced by al b sure and devante swing-

I remember the sound, it was unique... and the voices from kci and jojo...

The hitsingles, wow... STAY, forever my lady.... Im still waiting... i gotta love
and Come and talk 2 me..
and then the remixes for the clubs i loved Gotta love - remix and offcouse the classic remix of come and talk 2 me !

Anyway, this album is the bomb all songs are superb....

I like some of the fast songs, but Side 1 was always the focus.

Don't forget the remixes to "I'm Still Waiting."

I love me some Jodeci!!! I remember after they came out, a bunch of male groups followed trying to sound just like them, but there's only ONE Jodeci!!!

K-Ci use to throw down on those songs....that man has a voice on him!!

"Come and Talk to Me" is a classic, but it only took them a couple albums to completely fuck up their sound.

I remember when my mother took my best friend and I to their concert. This was probably back in 92 or 93. I was a sophomore in high school.

I have always liked these cats. K-ci has a new cd out. The background vocals are dead on Jodeci.

Yep. Except for the opening track, the songs on the 2nd lp all had 2 chords. And the 3rd CD was DeVante being full of himself on the X-large coattails of Suge Knight. It only had about 3 good songs on it, IMO.

well i actually liked the second cd better than the first. If it weren't for all those unneccessary interludes, then the cd would have been good...but the songs i thought were mellow for Jodeci's style.

true true, now we all know Jodeci definitely weren't innocent at all, i mean they were the bad boys of R&B for goodness sakes....

but i still think that after all these years, and even as a smoker himself, I think K-Ci's voice sounds pretty decent. I mean he doesn't sound the same as he did on Forever My Lady, but he can still blow. As far as the others, I don't think they have the same luck. Based on that clip on YouTube when they were singing with Jamie Foxx, DeVante was off key and Jo-Jo sounded like he was straining to get a note out. Dalvin....well we really never heard Dalvin's voice most of the time anyway....except on that awful solo album he had put out a few years back. But he sure could play those drums very well!!

You have to listen for his voice on their recordings. Believe me, for years I thought the guy didn't really sing on their CD's. But now I can pick his voice out. It blends very well with K-ci's and JoJo's.

Oh really....as much as i use to listen to "Forever My Lady" and "Diary of a Mad Band" I never really paid any attention to his voice, though next to DeVante I thought he was the cutest in the group. I guess I should put it in one day and really listen for it. Ooops I forget, he did sing a verse in a song on the last album they put out.
