Vh1's Greatest songs of the 80's

Who's enjoying this show? I know i am, mainly just seeing new interviews with the artists that are still recording and doing better work than the shit that gets played nowadays. They have done 100-41 so far, nothing has really bothered me yet, I think the 80's will be the last decade that u will be able to have something like this, i just cant see a special in 10 years doing the best songs of the 90's. Great to see things in there from ABC,the Fixx,Men at work etc, great new interviews with bands, cant wait till they get to a-Ha which should be soon, im just curious about what they will say about being ignored in america for the last 20 years, though influencing many major bands. Also thanks VH1 for giving airtime to a Rick Springfield concert last night, it was on at 1AM but im glad for the airtime. Also a side note, TERI NUNN of Berlin Looks freaking gorgeous, yet another example of getting better with age, she looks and sounds amazing, possibly the most underrated female vocalist of the last 25 years.

If you havent been watching feel free to ask about a favorite 80's song and i'll let u know if it placed yet.

I love it. I haven't seen every song on every show but I don't see some other 80's songs like "Electric Avenue," "Genius of Love," "Sweetest Taboo," etc.

'Tis a good pop song and is better then say "like a virgin" which is higher up. Those synths and drum machines sound so good with the treble up on my system.

I think the best thing for me was when a-Ha came in at #24, and of course VH1 says the normal stuff "it was their only US hit though a-Ha have sold millions worldwide and still do", but right after that the Sugar Ray guy said "yeah and he hits that note all the time then and now, and i dont think they had Pro tools back then Missy". Now if we can only get vh1 to be like the IMF video channel and play some of a-Ha 's new videos. Also why does Jason Mraz get to speak? Let the artists from the 80's speak, isnt this guy done yet.

8."Like A Virgin" Madonna

I hate to see 80s lists in which Madonna is represented by this song instead of the superior "Like A Prayer" mad

That Poison song isn't a favorite of mine, but I was just saying that I hope VH1 actually spelled it correctly. It's "Every Rose Has Its Thorn."

This list is a disgrace. Just a few of the more glaring omissions: Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, The Jam, The Smiths, New Order, Pet Shop Boys...

This list was good up until the top 20. When Doves Cry is about the only one right or otherwise in its right place. "Sledgehammer" not in the Top 20? Not a single Police song in the top 20? No Janet in the top 20? Others are missing here too. Who chose this list?

1 "Livin’ on a Prayer" Bon Jovi -- WAAAY TOO HIGH. "Thriller" or "Billie Jean" should be No.1 regardless of what one thinks about Michael Jackson now.

2 "Pour Some Sugar On Me" Def Leppard -- Come on. I'd take "Sweet Child" over this one any time.

6 "I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do)" Daryl Hall & John Oates -- Love Hall and Oates, but this is way too high.

17 "Here I Go Again" Whitesnake Are you kidding me?
