MY top 5 of 2006...but they weren't all done in 2006 (I know...I've been away from the record store for too long sad)

1. Chris Koza-Patterns (local dude)
2. The Life Pursuit- Belle & Sebastian
3. Funeral- The Arcade Fire
4. Carl Barat-Under The Influence (compilation that I can't stop listening to)
5. Ladytron- The Witching Hour

Best shows: Mark Mallman (anytime- another local), Ladytron, The Charlatans (Chicago and Mpls), omfg I'm experiencing a block! I guess that means I can't think of any others...uhoh. Looks like 2007 is gonna be a catchup year biggrin
If you have to ask, it's more than worth it.

Albums:

Bruce Springsteen-We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions. never a fan before but man he rocks this stuff.

John Mayer-Continuum: Didn't care for it at first, but now I think hes really going into the blues sound. This could get interesting.

Scissor Sisters-TaDah!: Yes its fun, its catchy, and its pure 70s disco pop fun. and thats why i like it. Plus I like how they treat the "gay thing", its like yeah we are but listen to this.

The Decemberist-The Crane's Wife: Its just damn good.

Weird Al-Straight Outta Lynwood: Why You may ask?, cause lyrically, which he writes, is better than the lyrics he parodies. Sure I always thought that he was a wanna be comedian, but after listening to this cd I have to give the man cred. He's spot on.

I still have to give props to the PSB-Fundamental a couple good songs but overall it just didn't catch fire.

oh and panic at the disco, only cause i want to see what they do next. i think they are interesting.
