Official: Andy Taylor left Duran Duran (again)

There were already rumours... now it is official sad sad sad sad

To Our Fans

We know that there has been a tremendous amount of speculation over the
past few weeks regarding Andy Taylor's continued involvement with the
band and we are sorry that we've been unable to provide you with more
information until now. The past five years have been an incredible
journey for us all - and having the original five back together was
something that we had wanted to see happen for some time. As of last
weekend, however, the four of us have dissolved our partnership and
will be continuing as Duran Duran without Andy, as we have reached a
point in our relationship with him where there is an unworkable gulf
between us and we can no longer effectively function together.
Although obviously disappointed and saddened about this, we are excited
about the next chapter of the Duran Duran story and look forward to
seeing you all soon.

Simon, John, Nick and Roger
the beautiful ones, you always seem to loose

I sensed this was coming, im not going to speculate but he had been having health issues, im thinking possibly there "May be" substance problems with him and obviously thats where the band is at now, its very similar to when BonJovi released Alec jon Such, years later it was found out that he had a horrible drinking problem and couldnt shake it, but Jon and the band kept it private for him.

Yeah me too... when he did not tour with them some gigs in 2005 i had a feeling like, ow no... i hope he wont leave....

he quit in the 80's coz of different way of thinking about music... and it is exactly the same now...

it is sad... but... he is not a guitarist with a unique sound... so.. he is replaced very well already..

still i dont like it

Maybe it's cuz he found juggling being a sheriff of a small town & being in a pop/rock group just too taxing.

It's a bummer... The 5 of them had a certain chemistry... i.e. Careless Memories. Nick, Simon and Roger are may faves...

I've been a fan all these years, I will continue to be a fan.

I wonder if Andy's work will be on the upcoming album?

I saw Duran Duran on tour last summer and Andy looked horrible. The rest of them aged fairly well, but Andy... disbelief

I'm very sad about this, but like most of you said, I kinda saw it coming. I will always love Duran Duran though! With or without Andy smile

That's too bad,but I was surprised when he came back in the first place. He never really seemed to fit in(outside viewpoint). He always looked the most forced.I like his work on the music, but I actually attribute that more to Nick and John. They looked naturally glam and were the most musical.Nick and John are the architects of the Duran sound with Simon bringing it all to life with distinctive vocals and lyrical style.Roger is a pretty solid drummer,as well. There has always been something super androgynous about Nick,Simon, and John that seemed really effortless and ,yet, like I always felt they were really hetero.(I'm not so sure about Simon anymore, but who really cares?)Andy looked like he was trying to fit the mold, but wasn't in his element.

All in all, I still say they are an underrated fivesome.Their music holds up fairly well over time, imho.

Let's get used to this guy, i think he will be the guitar player in the next tour.. I dont think they will add a new 5th official member...

Saw him play twice already, and he does very well!! so... GO DOM!!!!! Let us forget Andy!

I don't care who it is, just don't let this egotistical f*ck ever in the band again. Yes, I mean Andy Taylor.

Ummm...No on the last two posts. I'm bummed, and even though that's how the cookie crumbles, I definitely don't want Warren back, and I'm not going to just drop Andy and accept Dom. :holds breath and turns blue: Altho I probably will go to a show in the future, I wanna be smack dab in front of Simon. In the meantime, I need time to heal. sad

sad I was wondering when you would post. At least you got to see them a few times with Andy. Didn't you go to the UK to see them? That must have been awesome, the original 5 on their home turf. Sorry sweetie... I know I'd be super bummed if Nick was out.

Did you hear about this?

I wish I didn't come out of the blue for this. Yeah I have some great concert memories. Like Lennon said, "they cannot take that away from me." OOOhhhh I'm gonna seriously consider that one. It includes some goodies. Thanks for sharing Vina! hug
