James Morrison - Undiscovered

Maybe this has been covered and is old news already, but I was wondering what everyone thinks of this guy and his debut album.

I'm listening to it right now for the first time as I type this, and so far I like what I'm hearing. His voice is great, at times reminding me of mid to late 60s Stevie.

I'd only previously heard "You Give Me Something" on VH1 and wasn't aware it was this guy who sang that song (my mother sent me the CD and I didn't make the connection until I heard it). I was wondering if there's a lot of hype about him in the UK and whether he's getting any exposure in the US yet.

So what do you think? I think he has a lot of promise. music

James Morrison - Undiscovered for a reason!

The usual tacky, clichéd singer/songwriter clone that will have no genuine future in the music industry cos he's just doing what many tacky people have done before. He offers nothing new and nothing extraordinary. We could do without such faux artists.

I think "You Do Something To Me" is a gorgeous song, but...

His voice actually hurts me to listen to it. If ever there was a singer who sings from his throat, it's him. At that rate, he'll have nodules within 2 years.

Wow, that's harsh. lol

I think he has a great voice. The album certainly gets a bit weaker after the first few tracks though.

mmmm.... nodules drool

oh, you said 'nodules', not 'noodles'. disbelief

Anyway, I know what you mean. Especially towards the end of the album his voice gets so raspy it's grating, yet oddly on the other tracks I like it never seems to go too far and sounds genuinely soulful.
