I understand your reasons for ranking the albums that way. But if I needed to do the same, only RN1814 & Control would be mention because those 2 albums help change the game within studio production. EDIT: ....and yes, most of the greatest hits are here too. [Edited 10/26/06 16:38pm] I should have clarified by saying significant to her career. Here's how I would rate them in that way: Control Janet Rhythm Nation 1814 The Velvet Rope All For You Janet Jackson 20 Y.O. Damita Jo Dream Street And here's my list in order of favorites: The Velvet Rope Rhythm Nation 1814 Janet Control All For You 20 Y.O. Damita Jo Dream Street Janet Jackson

1. RN1814 - For Janet, this is THE greatest album of her career. Beside some of the songs dealing with social issues, the best thing about this album is the industrial funk & rock sound that was executed by Jam/Lewis (and I can't forget about Jellybean Johnson OR Jesse Johnson). The album is just perfect from start to finish. And BTW, The RN tour was the first concert that I ever went to in my whole life....and on the week of my 16th birthday at that! As far as I'm concern, THIS album deserves to be rank higher than Control. true:)

If edited, it probably trumps AFY. Lets re-track Damita jo so it's a GREAT and not just a GOOD album 1. Looking For Love (intro) 2. Damita Jo 3. Sexhibition 4. Strawberry Bounce 5. Put Your Hands On 6. Island Life 7. All Nite (Don't Stop) 8. R&B Junkie 9. I Want You 10.Like You Don't Love Me 11.Could This Be Love? 12.Moist 13.Spending Time With You 14.Thinking Bout My Ex 15.Outro THAT would be hot shit! Swap TBME for Truly and that would've been one helluva rebound from AFY.

Might as well join in the fun with my rankings as well.
1. Rhythm Nation 1814 (The most cohesive of all her offerings from beginning to end) 2. The Velvet Rope (This was highly therapeutic during a difficult time...I still consider this a flawed masterpiece) 3. Control 4. janet. 5. Damita Jo (Skankiness & inane interludes pared down, this could've been a really solid effort) 6. 20 Y.O. (Had to bump this down since I'm already bored with the CD and it's only been a month) 7. All For You 8. Janet Jackson 9. Dream Street
