Do any other movie scores compare with Danny Elfman's Batman soundtrack? Danny Elfman's Batman soundtrack is magical - as a 12-year-old comic book fan when Batman came out, I went expecting a great comic book movie, but what I wasn't expecting was to instantly become a Prince fan for life, and to hear some of the most wonderful, haunting orchestral music I'd ever heard, from Danny Elfman.
I've tracked down a few of his other scores, and nothing has quite the same feel. I listen to Danny Elfman's Batman score a lot when writing my novel, and I'm wondering if anyone has other suggestions for movie soundtracks or traditional classical pieces that would provide the same feeling of tension and adventure?

Danny Elfman who got his start with Oingo Boingo, has been doing the Tim Burton Soundtracks bout forever.
He also I think does the theme to the Desperate Housewives television show. The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

Indeed, his 70's and early 80's scores are awesome. occasionally he's still great.
