James Brown r&b chart positions?

anyone have a *COMPLETE* list of these? the ones i see all over the net are all missing them from 1963-1965, and i know for a fact that most, if not all of those songs charted on the r&b charts. it's kind of pissing me off that every single net listing is missing those, because i once skimmed through Billboard's book of top 40 r&b hits in a bookstore and saw them in there. anyone have that book? or have this info saved on your computer somewhere that you could cut & paste it?

thanks.

It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

well, if you've got the time/desire to type it up, i'd like the whole list. if not, well, the listing from 1963-1965 would do. (i'd really like a whole list, just in case there are other gaps, but there don't appear to be, judging by my list). but since there are something like 114 of them, i know that's asking a lot.

thanks a lot!

PS: i don't need the week date they entered the chart or how many weeks they were on, or the label info. just the title and the position are necessary. (and year, too, if you feel like it).

thanks again!

Right now I have some stuff I gotta do but I'll try to find some time to post this stuff later on.

Allmusic.com should have all these numbers, unless they predate Billboard....am I wrong? Check it out and Funkenstein doesn't have to do all that typing.

Starts at 1956 with "Please, Pelase, Please". It's mixed in with the pop singles. They used call the chart the black singles for years, but it became R&B sometime in the eighties.

The reason why R&B chart numbers from 1963 to 1965 are missing is because there was no Billboard R&B chart during those years.

well, i saw the book, and there are positions listed for things like "Out Of Sight" which has no r&b chart position that i can find anywhere on the net.

From November 30, 1963 until January 23, 1965, Billboard got rid of the Black Singles Charts. Theire was howerver R&B Cashbox chart listings (I know the Temptations "The Way Youi Do The Things You Do" hit number 1 on Cashbox R&B/ # 11 Pop)
PRINCE: Always and Forever
MICHAEL JACKSON: Always and Forever

Correct. Joel Whitburn used the Cashbox Top 50 positions to fill in the missing R&B years when compiling his Billboard R&B singles book. That's probably what Tessa saw.

Why did they get rid of it....Kind of in the mix of the civil rights movement, and all.
