More problems for Whitney Houston? This is a news item from my local newspaper today...
"Whitney Houston is having trouble finishing her "comeback" album and cancelled a video shoot last week to go back into the studio,says the New York Post.The first single,"Whatchulookinat",featuring help from Sean "P.Diddy" Combs and released just a week ago,has been panned. The singer has missed so much studio time that her CD,originally slated for September release,is now scheduled for early November,beyond the Grammys' October 1 deadline. Executives at Arista are said to be jittery.In August 2001,Houston signed a $100 Million deal with the label." | |

It really is a shame to see what has happened to Whitney over the past few years. That girl can sing and she can out sing just about anyone around. Her problem is definitely drugs and her low life husband Bobby. IMO, Bobby has brought her down. She seems very dedicated to him, but he is a loser and it's affecting her own life and career. She should get rid of Bobby and the drugs and she would then have a very successful career again and she would zoom right to the top. The drugs also help to enforce her attitude that she is a deva and can do whatever she likes, whenever she likes. I hope she will one day see what the drugs and Bobby have done to her and clean herself up and get out there again and make great music. | |

I heard that Arista is now CANCELLING the first single because only a handful of U.S. radio stations were playing it! They have decided to release another song as her first single.The new single will be a remake of the 1977 Debby Boone classic "You Light Up My Life"!
The album has been put on hold indefinitely,but they hope to have the first single and video out real soon. Arista is also pissed because they have spent MILLIONS on studio time,cancelled sessions,high-priced producers,etc. Perhaps Whitney will be the next mainstream artist to have problems with her record label?
