MissFee's personal recap
Beastie Boys: Is it me or was Diddy the absolute worst tribute artist compared to Fabolous and Q-tip - who absolutly killed it last night!!! Overall the Beastie Boys still have it, but i never was a great fan of theirs. MC Lyte's: She is so pretty!!! I think her tribute performance was a very good one with Brat, Remi, and Kim. I was pleased at least and then of course Lyte ripped it at the end!!! Eazy E: I liked his tribute performance as well. Thugs Bone N Harmony's performance brought back a lot of memories. "Tha Crossroads" use to be one of my favorite songs. Lil Eazy E did great too. He eerily sounded similar to his father, but his voice is a bit deeper. I thought his performance was cute. Russell Simmons: Well that part was okay, but I was still feenin' to see Wu Tang's tribute. Afrika Bambaataa (i think i spelled it wrong ): His tribute performance was good. While everybody was cheering for Erykah Badu and George Clinton, I was excited to see Bootsy on the guitar. Rakim: OH MY GOD!!! RAKIM IS SO SEXY!!! That voice, that flow, on my goodness, he just ripped it last night. The old and the new song, he still got it. That man is just pure genius. Rakim will always be a legend. He had me all Ice Cube: You know i've always loved Cube, movies and music...but with his music I loved his early stuff better than the stuff he is putting out now. He just had more of a hunger in his voice, and plus he was more angry, that's what I always loved about him. Instead of getting the other artists to do his older songs, he should have just done those instead of those awful songs he has out now. But that's just me. Still got love for Cube. Wu Tang Clan: First of all, I waited all night long just to see the Wu. I couldn't wait. Then when they finally got on stage, they cut their performance short!!!!! I was like what the hell????!!! I was yelling "Ice-T you better back up and let my boys finish"!! It wasn't fair, everybody else had ample personal performance time, and Wu Tang had to cut their's short??? I was highly disappointed. I was glad I did see those who showed up (where the hell was Ghostface at????) to perform. It was good seeing Method Man, Inspektah Deck, Masta Killa, Cappadonna, RZA, GZA, U-God, and Raekwon tear it up. Wish O.D.B. was still alive to rip it, but they got Lil Jon to do his line in the tribute part....he was energetic and all, but Lil Jon is still no O.D.B. Extras: Umm don't they think they should go ahead and honor Common instead of asking him a billion and one times to be there for somebody else??? Same goes for The Roots as well. Diddy is not needed for another tribute. Talib Kweli and Black Thought never fail to amaze me with their flows and performances. But why not invite Mos Def too??? Even though she killed it on her tribute performance to MC Lyte, Lil Kim should know that, that outfit she had on made he look even heavier than the extra pounds she gained in the lock up. Though the show this year was decent, and as much as I love Rakim and The Wu Tang Clan, their performances still didn't top Big Daddy Kane's performance last year. My predictions/suggestions for next year's Honorees: EPMD GangStarr Queen Latifah Common The Roots A Tribe Called Quest Leaders of the New School Dr. Dre Hammer (maybe??? ) I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I never was a big Wu Tang fan. Has nothing to do with their music; I just never got into them. I think they are more of an NY/East Coast Phenomenon.
Ice Cube was a little disappointing...this is coming from a fan so its not a diss, just honest criticism. I wish he'd had done some of his older tracks instead of his newer songs. The old stuff ws fast; the new stuff is produced by Lil' Jon and the likes; wack. Xzibit had a little more energy than I expected. Diddy needs to stick to selling clothes. He's one of the worst MCs EVER. MC Lyte was looking kinda right last night! (So was Easy's widow but I'm not gonna go there) I thought the Brat ripped it on her tribute. Remy was a little dull. Is it me or is one of the members of Bone hugs Bone N Harmony starting to look like Snoop? Its is just me or does it seem like all of the old school rappers are WAY better and more skilled at performing than the new schoolers?
