They tried this when Whitney Houston and Mariah did a song together. It didn't help Whitney either, Did it VainAndy? --From New York Daily News: In a desperate move to breathe life into "20 Y.O.," a source says Dupri is courting Mariah Carey to have a duet with Jackson on a track that would be added to a new version of the disk — even though some estimate Virgin still hasn't moved about 200,000 of the first batch. _____ The reason this bothers me, is mainly its to take advantage of your core fans, lets be real if they duet the only people that will buy it are the same people that bought the first version "YOUR LOYAL FANS". Im so sick to death of people holding back tracks so they can double their sales on a re-issue. Its just so frustrating that JD cannot deal with the fact that all artists have "their day" or their few years" where they are everything, its just the way the world goes, NO ONE stays on top forever, u cannot be the "shit" forever, and when you cannot accept that you look like a bigger fool. I didn't know they did one together. Of course, I've tried my damndest not hear either of their music for years. Just the thought of being forced to listen to those two together would be like being tortured in the hottest fires of hell. Andy is a four letter word.

The song is called "When You Believe",released in late 1998.It is the theme song to the animated film 'The Prince Of Egypt'.Unfortunately, the song is a snoozefest. It's one of those big, dreary pop ballads...the type of stuff Celine Dion has made a career out of.Produced by Babyface but by the late 90s,it was clear that he had lost his magic touch.I recall this song getting alot of pre-release hype, but when it finally came out, nobody cared and the song only became a minor hit.

This Mariah-Janet thing is nothing more that hype, hype and more hype? I'm wondering if Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis view JD as a little annoying knat who they wish would just blow away, but out of respect for janet they keep quiet.

Tessa said: Janet'll have her boobs out and Mariah will be rockin' her cameltoe and painted-on abs. I think that may possibly be my favourite Mariah moment ever! That and her photo op with the homeless guy in the wheelchair - she certainly has a unique sense of humour! What i like about her is her willingness to throw her crazy tendencies right out there for everyone to see. As for this Mariah / JJ thing, it clearly stinks of poo, and its only a rumour at the moment. The actuality is bound to be worse than we can imagine - lets hope it happens!

honestly, at this point, she should just let Ciara be Janet. their 2 most recent videos are straight from the Janet Jackson mold, except strangely, Ciara's is more Janet than Janet's (and works better). they both suck, but Ciara makes for a better Janet at the moment than Janet does. LOL....lawd and I do think Ciara is doing Janet better than Janet....and I like sucky Ciara....I still don't know why though....maybe because I think she's Janet LOL

I hate to say it but I think Ciara might be growing on me. Not really into the music but she seems okay and I do like the new song Promise and I only paid attention to that because someone referenced it on the Org. And Ciara actually talked about making her new album. Something Janet didn't do. 2 points. [Edited 10/18/06 13:09pm] Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

[Edited 10/18/06 13:09pm] No, no, no, no, no .... Anyway, you didn't really want to hear Janet talking about how she made that lump of shit did you? "Well, Jackie, I sat down on the toilet after my high-fibre, lo-cal breakfast of three twigs and half a lettuce leaf and summoned my creativity. Et voila! 20 YO!" Of course you don't! You want to hear all about how she lost three burger joints in weight, likes to have sex with midgets and is really looking forward to her next high-fibrem lo-cal breakfast so she can make 21 YO. [Edited 10/18/06 13:09pm] I like Ciara because she's basic. She dances, she sings aight, she's cute...etc. I like her forgettable songs. Not every song or artist has to be deep. I don't need a bunch of ebadu's and india's.

I don't need a bunch of ebadu's and india's. She seems safe. Pleasant disposition, speaks well, easy on the eyes. The voice isn't great but it's not hellish either and every now and then she can surprise me. Reminiscent of babygirl Aaliyah but not so much that I feel that she's trying to be Aaliyah. No wonder I haven't heard it. I finally got enough of hearing bullshit and took all stations that play current music off my dial in 1997 (the year before their song). I'm not surprised it was an adult contemporary sounding song for an animated film. Hell, she paved the way for such dead shit. Before she came along, shit like that was the ultimate in "uncool".
