Really? He seems like a pretty nice guy. I think he was just annoyed with people constantly asking him about his private life, but other than that no.

No he is just lazy!!!

The guy made a couple dollars already and now he doesnt want to work! LOOK how he got into the business, he stood in line on a reality show eek mad

He isn't a musican, or never even worked hard in the business. He never paid his do's!!!!!

He was lazy. He never did anything but show up, stood in line, sang and was picked for the show. Then the Public Relations People/Stylist hooked him up.

Totally agree, i just saw the repeat of this show and Im thinking to myself, WTF? He says he had no idea that celebrity had to deal with rumours and things like that, is he living on Mars? Also he's singing covers ALREADY!! New rule you have to have at least 10 albums or have been in the business at least 10-15 years before you can do covers, sorry but that has to be a new rule. This guy is coming on like hes Tony Bennet or Manilow, even if you dont like those guys, they are allowed to cover albums because they either lived through the time period of the artist they cover OR they actually idolized the person they are covering. Clay aiken is recording his Second album and its COVERS already, talk about lazy, talk about phoning it in!

[flame snipped - Tom] Why does one have to pay "dues" in order to have success? Show me where that law is written. While you're at it, show me where it's written that singers have to wait T minus X years before releasing an album of covers. And Aiken is as much as a musician as any contemporary singer. I do not like Clay Aiken's music - but jeezus, the vitriol pouring out of these posts are horribly jaded in perspective. He has an opportunity to do his "thang" - let the sister do it!

nod

And with all that I've seen with Clay recently, he's proof to me that not everyone is supposed to be in the music industry. Not because if his voice but if you can't deal with the pressure of the business then you are going to be swallowed up and homeboy is not looking good at all.

Well im not hating on him, actually i could care less about him. Im talking about whining about rumours when hes a friggin celebrity, look U signed up for the show, u became popular, stop bitching about the attention, thats what i was pointing out in the post, these celebs that complain about all the attention, dont like it go work in a bank. And as far as being jaded, i was about the only one in the world who stuck up for CASSIE the Rb girl when everyone was hating on her because she cant sing live, when 99% of singers cant.

Yeah, what about Rueben???

Anyhoo, I like Clay's voice. He's a good middle of the road singer. I think he was all starry eyed and not prepared for the slimy underside of the business.

I saw the rebroadcast of Larry King Live later last night on CNN.

Clay just needs to go to broadway and clean up, man. Maybe he is just waiting to do that.

Yeah, but where is Rueben now? First he had that annoying single "Sorry For 2004", then he did the gospel thing, now???? At least Clay is doing something. Seems to me that he has one over on Rueben.

I didn't think so at all. He looked like young man who is clearly gay, but wants to keep the press out of his life, dealing with the pressures of pop stardom the best way he can, and needs to be left the hell alone. That boy isn't hurting anybody. He apparently just wants to sing, help children with disabilities and live his life, what's so deranged about that?

shrug I think his voice is perfectly suited to pop music, just not what's out today. Consequently, he puts out throwback-ish sounding, middle of the road crap to try and please as many bored secretaries as possible.

Ummm Rueben is still around. In fact, he's supposed to be on one of those late night talk shows this week (forget which one, but I saw it in the paper).
