Instant Vintage by Rapheal Siddiq

Has anyone else purchased Instant Vintage by Rapheal Siddiq.

I think this my be the worst RnB cd releashed this year. I borrowed the cd from a friend and I am so happy I did not buy it. The cd has received rave reviews and I just wondered if any one else was as surprised as I was at how bad it is.

Essence

It took a while to grow on me ("Instant" is an ironic prefix) but I really like it now.

Takes a few listens IMO...

not bad but I think of Him like Babyface in that He is more of a Producer than a Artist IMHO.what might work for Him as a Producer seems to be kinda Long-Winded for a Whole Album IMHO.

Plus it seems as if his best material are one offs (Get Involved) or given to other artists etc.

I actually really enjoyed this release. Maybe not quite as much as Musiq's Juslisten or Remy Shand's The Way I Feel, but I still thought it was a solid album. Some of the songs were a little half-baked and short, but they were interesting nonetheless.

I loved a song called "Can't Get Enough"...He gave the song to an all girl group---can't remember the name of the group---who's video featured Jasmine Guy...

I'm having a hard time growing on Raphael's album. Maybe I need a few more spins, but it's just not clicking for me the way I thought it would. Loved his work with TTT and LP though.

BTW, I love that song "Can't Get Enough" by Willie Max. They fell off so fast though. But I loved that lyric in the song: "they say you got me open, like a 24-hour liquor store." smile
