Google to buy Youtube

.
This is good news...seems it will happen. Now they will probably follow thru with their initial plan to provide indie filmmakers, as well as others, the opportunity to benefit from video.

So glad they beat Bill to this.

if they do, i just hope they don't incorperate it in to one mega-site. i don't like "cluttered" sites. keep it seperate.

Why? We know from recent Youtube news that they need the money. Google has it. They even have the e-com engine in place, they just couldn't compete with the Youtube popularity...so they bought them out.

Someone was going to do it. I think it's better Google than Gates. Deal isn't closed yet, I'm sure Steve Jobs has his eye on them too.

It would be a win-win for both...but..there are several others that have been eyeing Youtube.

I wonder if this means the end of ALL copywritten material
or more of it, now that they have the capital from Google ?

Yeah, I know..but there's ALOT of content on YouTube
companies/artists wanting either monies owed or take it down.
Google can afford what they up. no need to shrug.

There will be more. They have the money to pay whatever licencing fees. It may be an annual thing or it may be monitored some other way.

Not sure what the biz model is but I would guess that much on the user end, will remain free and they will probably make their money from ads. That seems to be the Google way.

We'll see.
