How does Yahzarah compare to Erikah Badu? I was just browsing my recommendations in Amazon.com and now I am intrigued by the photo cover of Yazarah's Blackstar album. She's got this aura of a princess.
Has anyone listened to Blackstar or any other album by Yahzarah? If you like her music, does she she sound like Erikah Badu? How would you describe her voice?

I have her "Hear Me" CD. I think they arrange their vocals similarly but I don't think she sounds like Erykah. I like her. She's got skills. Her voice is very alluring. She stretches her vocal capabilities further than Erykah does, too. She's more experimental. Also, the music is a bit more polished and esoteric than what Miss E. does. She stacks her harmonies really well and harmonises very smartly. She's closer to Jacki McGhee from The Family Stand than Erykah Badu in my opinion. I think she shines better on her ballads than her uptempo songs. I really like "Rooftop" and "Love Is You". I'd recommend the CD because its extremely well put together and she's one of those artists where you can listen to her sing anything and appreciate it. [/b]

Now I definitely am going to give "Hear Me" a try. Experimental, alluring, esoteric and polished...she sounds like an artist I would like to listen to.
