Guess America still has hope Yeah , considering their first album peaked at #102 in the US. Sure it will tail of kinda fast though , since all the fans bought it in week 1.

Wow talk about a flop.... >>109 SIMPSON*JESSICA PUBLIC AFFAIR 9,257 -38 14,898 211,564 <<<< Nick sold twice this many before falling this low....karma [Edited 10/4/06 11:06am] Well to stick up for Jessica, she never was a "Big" selling star, i mean in that "Pop Female Blonde" group she came out with she barely outsold Mandy Moore, her first record was a struggle to get to gold, her second album missed it, her third was heading in that direction until newlyweds took off and of course the Berlin cover she did. Also she is experiencing a similar cold shoulder from MTV which she basically made tons of money for, she had a planned music special to come out with the cd and mtv pulled out of it. As for Nick, this guy got lucky, he basically played the "pussy" and america bought it up and made it like Jessica played him, but if you look at the facts Nick was dating Vanessa Minnillo 2 months before they split or his album came out, so his tears for missing jessica, were just to get you to put down your money for his empty ballads. I think everyone just had to realize that 95% of albums are going to be slow burn sellers, it may tak someone 20 weeks now to get 200,000 when they might have had that after week 3-4. I think we need to get out of this soundscan mind frame, like it matters, since its not consumer sales, but record-store ordering, and re-ordering. I think what soundscan has caused is this Craze for Hype to get that big first week, i mean look what Janet Jackson did, all those Tv shows, Magazines, etc..None of it had a damn thing to do with music, does it really matter anymore "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

That's odd because on one of the charts it has a platinum triangle next to it...Maybe their label over certified their stats so it wouldn't lok bad sinc every Outkast album goes platinum or more...

Natalie Cole'e new CD barely sold 10,000 copies in it's first week
I don't know why record labels think that Old School artists should keep on doing covers albums. It doesn't guarantee a hit record at all.

Who are the almost 4 million people that bought that Nickelback album? I don't think I know one person that owns a Nickleback CD! I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

Theres some good stuff....maybe 5-10% of it.. Good to see John Mayer sticking around the Top 10 for a few weeks . Wow talk about a flop.... >>109 SIMPSON*JESSICA PUBLIC AFFAIR 9,257 -38 14,898 211,564 <<<< Nick sold twice this many before falling this low....karma [Edited 10/4/06 11:06am] I know! Who figured that would happen? Nick also had a bigger hit single. Guess the days where Jessica could do no wrong and everything she touched turned to gold are over. I have an idea her new movie will be a huge flop!

Actually, I think it was the "With You" song and it's video with lots of gimick in jokes from "Newlyweds" really helped to push the ablum. I think that's a good call on Nick. Did that album have anything but "I Hate You, I'm Lonely, I Miss You"-ish type ballads? Damn, Nick!

Probably the ones that have broken down after hearing it on radio non-stop. Maybe they figure if they buy it, radio will stop playing it. And it's not just regular radio. They pop up all the time on Sirius (I never listen, but I see "Nickelback").
