I have some of those tracks on a two volume Barkays compilation I have. I'm still going to look for the album though. I have two of their 1970s albums and all of their 1980s albums, 1990s albums, and also a compilation CD of their Stax material. Knowing from having those albums, I'm sure "Light of Life" probably has plenty of jams that never made a compilation. Those guys put out great albums.

I always wondered why they were into American funk because the lyrics are a totally different language than their's. It's a perfect example that proves that good music is not about the lyrics....it's about the music behind them. Hopefully I will get my wish soon. It has always been strictly black and white down here but lately we have had a growing Mexican population. I've never had anyone hispanic but have always found them to be fine as hell.

I'll never forget, I was in the restroom at a gay club a few months ago and this hot Mexican was in there. We were washing our hands and I was trying to talk to him. He started talking in Spanish and I couldn't understand a word he said and vice versa. I decided I would use a univeral language so I stuck my middle finger in my mouth hoping he would understand what I meant. That motherfucker got all frantic and started pointing to a commode. He thought I had to throw up.

I hate to say it but I've never been able to tell the difference.
