Thats the latest news from U2 this "definitive" collection will have 16 tracks plus 2 new songs, one of which is "Saints are marching". The reason for this release is because u2's new cd isnt ready to go until 2007. Rumours are circulating that they are working with Rick Rubin, then those tracks didnt work and now they are working in Abbey Road studios with another producer, once again at this point its all up in the air. But another best of????

I'm torn... On one hand, I'm excited by the prospect of 2 new U2 cuts. Rick Rubin is supposed to be the producer of the non-Green Day cut, and I'm thinking that it might hint towards the direction of their new album. I'm also glad to hear that the proceeds from the album and the Green Day duet are both going to the Music Rising charity that Edge took part in (supports Katrina relief).

However, do we really need another Greatest Hits at this point? I can't see the logic in releasing this package so soon after 1990-2000 which only came out 4 years ago, with one album in between.

That being said, I'm sure it'll compliment their new book "U2 by U2"; rumor has it that the CD was originally supposed to be included with the deluxe edition, but there was some sort of snafu that prevented this.

at the thought of new U2 in a little over a month. at the promise of a 2 disc set.

i don't care what they release. i'm just psyched i get to see their final night of the vertigo tour in hawaii!!!

i'm totally gonna pay for it, though. i leave SF on the 7th of december immediately following a final for property and i leave hawaii at 11:59pm on the 10th of december just in time to take a nap before my contracts final at 2pm that same afternoon.

but it'll all be worth it to the best show of the year!!
