I have all their albums - the remastered, expanded versions - plus their box set. Does that qualify as "interested"? lol
There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

they're one of my all-time favorites.

do you have the talking heads brick? the box set of all their studio albums done up as dual discs w/ bonus tracks and video content? it's good stuff...well worth the $$$.

and as good as 'stop making sense' is (i LOVE the film), you gotta hear 'the name of this band is talking heads' - it's their first live album and there are some performances on there that are so funky it's sick ("found a job" in particular kicks my butt).

i'd say my fave talking heads albums are 'fear of music' and 'speaking in tongues', though there are songs on every one of their albums i really like. i even thought 'naked' was a great album.

I think I'm going to try to find a box set of their work. I always hear "Once in at Lifetime" on the radio.. And Stop Making Sense. Actually most of the time they are David Byrne's reworked versions of them.

I'm really interested in that band.

i have the 'once in a lifetime' anthology box set - that's a good place to start, not to mention the liner notes and packaging are a lot of fun.

i'm really not a fan of the 'true stories' album, though the movie was moderately cute. i listened to it constantly when it came out, but it lost its flavor fast. the 'music from true stories' companion soundtrack album is interesting, though.

I dig 'em, but I still haven't gotten the brick yet. You ever see it used at Reckless Anx?

I really like the country-ish song on the True Stories album; along with 'Wild Wild Life' and 'Love For Sale', it's one of the only songs from the CD that I listen to. Oh, and I think 'Dream Operator' is really good.

While I haven't been able to listen to a Smiths/Morrissey song since my early twenties (and personally think most of them romanticize depression - a very irresponsible thing to do), Johnny is still a shit-hot guitar player. guitar

i know. i just like to goof on anything smiths-related because i dislike morrissey so. i like the MUSIC on smiths albums, and he was part of that group 'electronic' with bernard sumner, right? that was good.

Are we talkin', like, Meg Ryan intensity here? I'm not much of a fan of the Mozman myself. Why does he get on your tits?

not quite meg level. if my hatred were personified by star wars villains, my hatred for morrissey would be, like, that little rat thing next to jabba the hut. meg ryan would of course be emperor palpatine.

i hate his voice. i hate his hair. i hate his little fetishy dandyish crap. i hate his constant affectations. his sideburns can kiss my ass.
