New Beatles Album to be released - "LOVE"

"LOVE" ALBUM TO BE RELEASED

Monday 2nd October

Apple Corps Ltd/EMI Music proudly announces the release of LOVE, the new CD from The Beatles, due November 2006.

After being asked by the remaining Beatles, Ringo and Paul along with Yoko Ono Lennon and Olivia Harrison, to make experimental mixes from the original master tapes for a collaboration with Cirque du Soleil, Sir George Martin, The Beatles legendary producer, and his son Giles Martin have been working with the entire archive of Beatles recordings to create LOVE.

The result is an unprecedented approach to the music. Using the master tapes at EMI's Abbey Road Studios, Sir George and Giles have created a unique soundscape. The release of this album, which is also featured in the Cirque Du Soleil/Beatles collaborative production of the same name at the Mirage in Las Vegas, has been much anticipated.

"This music was designed for the LOVE show in Las Vegas but in doing so we've created a new Beatles album" said Sir George. "The Beatles always looked for other ways of expressing themselves and this is another step forward for them."

Giles continues, "We took all the Beatles' catalogue from tape, the original four tracks, eight tracks and two tracks and used this palette of sounds and music to create a sound bed. What people will be hearing on the album is a new experience, a way of re-living the whole Beatles musical lifespan in a very condensed period".

The album will be released worldwide in November 2006. Additional information, including a track listing will be available shortly.

Many thanks.

Sounds really different. Could be really cool, or could be unspeakably awful. I'm sure I'll check it out, though.

Yeah im not sure about this, although Martins involvement is encouraging and im sure the Beatles themselves wouldnt let this out if it were embarassing, im just worried that it will be a new age kind of Beatles, like if Yanni were in the group

it should have been called CASH, as in "all you need is." for a group that refused to use their music for commercial advertisements and wanted to start a revolution, they sure have lost all credibility.

sir paul mccartney just can't get enough cash, can he?

I know for a fact that he was hands-on involved with the Cirque du Soleil production.

hmmm It almost sounds as if they should just release it as a DVD with the Cirque du Soleil visuals.

Im hoping that soon the Beatles will open the vault and release "Let it Be" on DVD, with tons of extra footage that i know they are sitting on. The same goes for "the Abbey Road" sessions, the thing that annoyed me about the Beatles Anthology Dvd collection, was that it spent so much time on the early years and it seemed to zip right through the Abbey Road sessions, despite there being tons of photos, you know someone has that video footage and is sitting on that. It would be nice to get this stuff before Beatle Fans, that care are still alive.

I've heard that this is like an 80 minute mash-up tape.

For instance, the vocals to 'Within You, Without You' are mixed into the rhythm section of 'Tomorrow Never Knows' at one point.

It sounds intriguing.

my only worry is that it was originally commissioned for Cirque du Soleil which means it could very well be a load of embarrassing tripe.

Of course. It didn't seem like there were any big releases to help save the dying record sales of today. I guess they are bargining on this. I wonder how it will do. Anybody see this show?
