You know Dylan was kicking himself for missing out on that lyric.. I've been out in front of a dozen dead oceans, I've been ten thousand miles in the mouth of a graveyard, And it's a hard, and it's a hard, it's a hard, and it's a hard, I don't think you're ready for this jelly I don't think you're ready for this And it's a hard rain's a-gonna fall. How could he have missed it! "What kind of fuck ending is that?"

bootylicious
1. adj- term actually first coined by Snoop (Doggy) Dogg in the song "Dre Day" (Dr. Dre's 1992 "The Chronic") Meaning lackuster, laughable or just simply terrible. 1- "Your bark was loud, but your bite wasn't vicious, and those rhymes you were kickin' was quite bootylicious"

She's overrated, she gets more credit than what she really deserves, for example, 5 Grammy Awards for a record that sounds just like any other "R&B" diva's. Another xample, SHE GETS 2 PER4M WITH PRINCE? Please. I'm just saying. And I think everyone's getting bored and tired of B. In agreement with most of what you said, except the part about Prince: I do believe he is a an important enough individual within the framework of NARAS to veto performing with a (then ingenue) solo artist like Bouncy...if he wanted to.

Regardless of how much of a songwriter she really is, musically and lyrically, I've never heard anything by her and been impressed by the songwriting. . [Edited 10/3/06 12:02pm] well it's funny cuz she's always going on about not getting enough credit for song writing but i don't think it's even all that great. i mean i guess she's good at coin phrasing terms and making them popular like "bootylicious" for example. I wonder if people will start saying "upgrade you". The thing with songwriting for pop music is that it's actually divided up by percentages to determine who gets how much money for their contribution, and there's generally a lot of wrangling going on back and forth behind the scenes as peoplefight for who added this phrase or that chord so on and so forth. In addition, as quiet as its kept, for most Top 40 acts, when songs are submitted to the labels for inclusion on the artists cds, I've actually seen them be rejected because they lyrics may be considered "too sophsticated" for the target audience of commercial music listeners. I habe literally watched up&coming songwriter-producers (who haven't quite mastered the "game" yet but eventually go on to be pop heavy hitters), I've seen them get hammered by label suits saying things like "oh that's too much, lyrically...we need to dumb this down..." ...as God is my witness

Beyonce already may be overexposed, IMO. In an era where most artists now come out with an album every few years (three to five-plus years), it seems like Beyonce always is coming out with new product (between solo albums and her Destiny's Child projects). That's not even counting appearances on TV (be it awards shows or commercials), movies and in print magazines. With the media exposure and avenues being much greater than in the 1970s and early 1980s, popular recording acts today seem to have shorter shelf lives. Beyonce pretty much has been a fixture for the past six years, but especially in the past three years it seems like she's been a constant presence. I think B can use a little more rock guitar in her songs if she really wants that full Tina vibe. But make no mistake.....
There's only ONE Tina! http://www.youtube.com/wa...0rz93V4urg "The first time I saw the cover of Dirty Mind in the early 80s I thought, 'Is this some drag queen ripping on Freddie Prinze?'" - Some guy on The Gear Page
