Co-sign. To steal a quote from Pete Burns, that new lead singer has the charisma of a used Tampax. Could you imagine the bargain basements that sham band is playing now? Brokedown casino circuits if they're lucky. George's songs, stage presence and persona are that band. Period.

He actually said that? I think the group should just stop now, Culture Club is music history...

He actually said that? I think the group should just stop now, Culture Club is music history... He said that about someone I forget, not this new lead singer. I just stole it because it felt apropos. I can't even believe the YouTube comments on the page. "He has his own distinct style!" Please. "I can't wait for them to record new material!" Double please.

Co-Sign. Granted, Sam is pretty good, IMO. But he can't f*** with Boy George in the Northern Soul department!

they reunited with him in the late 90s I think Jon, Mikey, & Roy were fed-up with George's drug problems. They were also sick and tired of waiting for George to return to the band. I know it doesn't make it right (since Boy George is THE real voice of Culture Club), but THIS is the music business. And there is 3 other band members that needs to make money. Plain & simple. [Edited 9/29/06 21:37pm] good for all 4 of them if George can't get his shit together That's true, all good and everything but really, who wants to see Culture Club without Boy George? I worked at the Fox Theatre in Detroit a few years ago and Culture Club came. I swear every single person I showed to their seat that night asked me specifically if I was sure that Boy George was there. They made no secret of the fact that they were there to see Boy George. I'm not saying that everybody feels that way. I'm just saying alot do! If they can get beyond that hurdle and make it work then more power to them and I wish them all the best!

all i'm saying is i grew up in those years and i can't name a member of the group other than boy george. i only sort of know that boy's boyfriend at the time was someone in the group. and i only know that because of the boy george connection. [Edited 10/2/06 23:03pm]

Isnt that that Star Search guy? Culture Club without Boy George is like Wham without George Michael or Oates without Hall. Bound for a fall.
*Disclaimer John Oates is a talented guy in his own right. I'm just sayin'. "The first time I saw the cover of Dirty Mind in the early 80s I thought, 'Is this some drag queen ripping on Freddie Prinze?'" - Some guy on The Gear Page
