Pyromania is a classic rock album that I loved at the time, and Hysteria's pretty good too. Haven't liked much of what they've done since. Maybe they need to get with Mutt again.

You obviously haven't listened to a lot of rock music because you soon realise that they're actually a bunch of really talented song-writers. I'm not saying that their music is the deepest, most meaningful stuff you've ever heard, but hey, some people like to have a sense of humour in their work.
I strongly recommend that you listen to 'vicki waiting' on Prince's Batman album- music ain't all about moaning on about how your record company enslaved you!

Cliche ridden, cornball, homogenized, watered down rock n roll for people who can't handle real rock - or for radio stations who daon't dare play any. Songwriters?!? Honestly, how hard is it to write the same song over and over again? "Photograph", "Rockit", "Pour Some Sugar on Me", "Rock of Ages"...listen carefully and you can hear that it's all the same song. AC/DC does this too.

I know it's just taste and opinion. More power to anyone who likes this stuff. Knock yourselves out. Give me Sabbath, Zeppelin, Janes Addiction, Living Color, old Van Halen, Rage, Rush, The Who, Stones, the Police, Pearl Jam, ...hell...I could list better rock bands all night long. Leppard is a great band...but X sucks ass. they brought in too many trendy outside writers, and it kills the disc.
