Madonna and Guy to adopt set of African twins? From RollingStone.com:
Madonna and Guy Ritchie have reportedly decided to add to their already pretty multi-cultural family and adopt a pair of African twins. According to reports the couple will head to Malawi in October to deal with the legal details. Apparently Madge and Guy wanted to adopt just one child but changed their minds when told that might require splitting up a family. The Jolie-Pitt comparisons are inevitable, but Madonna’s lack of public pontificating about her desire for a Benetton family is kinda refreshing, no?

I could easily see Guy and Madonna doing this. I wouldn't view this as a publicity stunt at all.
Madonna has already said she wanted more children, but is having a difficult time conceiving. This would be perfect for them and then help these children as well. Who cares if Angelina has already done this. Who cares where the inspiration comes from. It's the fact that Guy and Madonna have the desire and the ability that counts. | |

can anyone adopt an american child in foster care?
No offense to the beautiful children in need across the globe but we have hundreds of thousands of kids in the US that get passed over because it sounds better to say I have a kid from Russia or China or Africa. Still, in all of my negativity, God bless them for adding to their family. | |

Still, in all of my negativity, God bless them for adding to their family. Yeah...I often think about that, too: there are tons of kids in the U.S. needing homes. But at least it Madge's and Guy's defense, they're from Great Britain, so.... I guess adopting children from Africa isn't such a stretch. My only observation more than a criticism would be IN GENERAL with stars like Angelina and even Meg Ryan, and maybe Madonna is that that there are kids in the US that could certainly benefit from their kindness as well. Then again, God Bless em all from making an effort--and trying to make a difference in any way that they can. [Edited 9/28/06 6:40am] | |

P.S. I don't put much stock in the adoption story, but she is scheduled to go to Malawi for several weeks (!) in November for her Raising Malawi projects (per www.madonna.com).
