Solo Beatles all release on the same day Every year, multiple solo Beatle products come out on the same date (usually late September). Take today:
John Lennon - The U.S. Vs. John Lennon soundtrack compilation Paul McCartney - Ecce Cor Meum choral CD George Harrison - Living In The Material World re-issue with DVD and bonus tracks Plus Paul McCartney is on one of the tracks on the new Tony Bennett Duets CD. Now where's Ringo? Edit: I just found out that Jerry Lee Lewis' new album of duets, released the same day as all of the above, features a duet with Ringo Starr on a cover of Sweet Little Sixteen. Is this the first time that all four Beatles have had solo releases on the same day? [Edited 9/27/06 8:08am]

Someone had a cool idea of combining solo tracks from the same year to make new Beatles albums.
So 1970 would be Sentimental Plastic Mc Things Must Pass Mother My Sweet Lord Hold On Wah Wah Isolation Working Class Hero What Is Life Junk Maybe I'm Amazed Teddy Boy Isn't it a Pity God Sentimantal Journey or something like that Maybe the Beatles already had this idea. I never noticed the simultaneous release dates before. [Edited 9/26/06 15:25pm] My Legacy

Though it's hard to include Ringo's songs from his 2 1970 albums I think I have all post Beatles songs (649) permanently in my iPod now. I listen to those on shuffle And Ringo has a quite nice bunch of songs, especially since his 1992 comeback

It's kind of nice I still have some George & Ringo albums to hear. The only Lennon stuff left for me is Two Virgins & The Wedding Album! My Legacy

Isn't that next week? Was it Sean or Julian who sang Salt Water? That was a great Beatles rip-off, and if anyone's entitled to rip off The Beatles, it may as well be John Lennon's son (who had either Hey Jude or Beautiful Boy written about him, depending on which son it was).

According to AMG, it's this week (yesterday). And I'm not familiar with Saltwater, but after looking it up it appears it was a Julian Lennon song.

OH MY GOD. THIS ALBUM IS SO NICE. i got a copy of it early this week, and i loved it on the first listen. it's darker than his first album, but there are some deliciously sappy ballads on it that he manages to get away with. GET THIS ALBUM.

[Edited 9/26/06 15:25pm] I've thought about doing this, too, but after the first year or two it gets tricky knowing which albums should be combined with each other. I'd love to see other suggestions. Yours has a Lennon-heavy first half, and a McCartney-heavy second half (like Abbey Road, I suppose). Lots of Harrison throughout, which makes this 1970 compilation a tricky one, since All Things Must Pass contained more Harrison material than the entire Beatles catalgue did. I bought it yesterday (I'm a McCartney fan, and I come from Oxford - I used to walk past Magdalen College all the time, which is where this was composed for). I haven't heard his other classical stuff, but this is nice. I listened to it while working on my novel last night, and it works very well. In general, I'm not a fan of pop musicians doing classical music, but I like this. Whatever you call Prince's Kamasutra, this is different. Ecce Cor Meum is Latin for "Behold My Heart", by the way.

I'm watching it now and I'm absolutely loving it Yeah, watching it, for those who don't know there's a 5.1 Mix Video for each song kinda like what was expected from Prince's last album (3121 The Music but not a word about 3121 The Video ) Boy's uglier than his parents
