Solo Beatles all release on the same day

Every year, multiple solo Beatle products come out on the same date (usually late September). Take today:

John Lennon - The U.S. Vs. John Lennon soundtrack compilation
Paul McCartney - Ecce Cor Meum choral CD
George Harrison - Living In The Material World re-issue with DVD and bonus tracks

Plus Paul McCartney is on one of the tracks on the new Tony Bennett Duets CD.

Now where's Ringo?

Edit: I just found out that Jerry Lee Lewis' new album of duets, released the same day as all of the above, features a duet with Ringo Starr on a cover of Sweet Little Sixteen.

Is this the first time that all four Beatles have had solo releases on the same day?

Shit, Ringo is alive and not releasing anything!

Thank God for both. wink lol

Awww...Ringo's had some good tunes. I love Photograph and It Don't Come Easy. Interesting observation about the release dates. I never noticed that.

Someone had a cool idea of combining solo tracks from the same year to make new Beatles albums.

So 1970 would be Sentimental Plastic Mc Things Must Pass

Mother
My Sweet Lord
Hold On
Wah Wah
Isolation
Working Class Hero
What Is Life
Junk
Maybe I'm Amazed
Teddy Boy
Isn't it a Pity
God
Sentimantal Journey

or something like that

Maybe the Beatles already had this idea. I never noticed the simultaneous release dates before.

I've been meaning to do that for years, only in my mind it's The Yellow Album, The Orange Album...
Though it's hard to include Ringo's songs from his 2 1970 albums confused

I think I have all post Beatles songs (649) permanently in my iPod now. I listen to those on shuffle smile And Ringo has a quite nice bunch of songs, especially since his 1992 comeback nod

Wow! Lord knows I'm a huge Beatles fan, but even I don't have all the solo stuff. It's kind of nice I still have some George & Ringo albums to hear. The only Lennon stuff left for me is Two Virgins & The Wedding Album!

Isn't that next week?

Was it Sean or Julian who sang Salt Water? That was a great Beatles rip-off, and if anyone's entitled to rip off The Beatles, it may as well be John Lennon's son (who had either Hey Jude or Beautiful Boy written about him, depending on which son it was).

According to AMG, it's this week (yesterday). And I'm not familiar with Saltwater, but after looking it up it appears it was a Julian Lennon song.

OH MY GOD. THIS ALBUM IS SO NICE.

i got a copy of it early this week, and i loved it on the first listen. it's darker than his first album, but there are some deliciously sappy ballads on it that he manages to get away with. GET THIS ALBUM. nod

i love into the sun, from beginning to end. i think i had a little music geek crush on sean lennon around that time, because that's when he recorded "rising" with yoko, and that's a really gorgeous album too...even if you LOATHE yoko. it's just so sweet to hear such a melodic, powerful rock album created by a mother and son. too sweet. touched

I'm no Yoko fan but I have no strong feelings toward her. I know you're a fan and staunch defender of her. lol For fear of derailing this thread, we should zipped any further mention of her.

I've thought about doing this, too, but after the first year or two it gets tricky knowing which albums should be combined with each other. I'd love to see other suggestions. Yours has a Lennon-heavy first half, and a McCartney-heavy second half (like Abbey Road, I suppose). Lots of Harrison throughout, which makes this 1970 compilation a tricky one, since All Things Must Pass contained more Harrison material than the entire Beatles catalgue did.

I bought it yesterday (I'm a McCartney fan, and I come from Oxford - I used to walk past Magdalen College all the time, which is where this was composed for). I haven't heard his other classical stuff, but this is nice. I listened to it while working on my novel last night, and it works very well.

In general, I'm not a fan of pop musicians doing classical music, but I like this. Whatever you call Prince's Kamasutra, this is different.

Ecce Cor Meum is Latin for "Behold My Heart", by the way.

It's hard for 1970, maybe that should be a double album since All Things & Plastic Ono are so strong.

Hey THANKS SO MUCH for the recommendation.
I saw it today and decided picking it up. I'm watching it now and I'm absolutely loving it nod Yeah, watching it, for those who don't know there's a 5.1 Mix Video for each song smile kinda like what was expected from Prince's last album (3121 The Music but not a word about 3121 The Video confused )

Boy's uglier than his parents giggle

This?

1 The Beatles One After 909 (1960 rehearsal)
2 The Beatles Ain't She Sweet
3 The Beatles Cry For A Shadow
4 The Beatles Twist & Shout
5 The Beatles I Should Have Known Better
6 The Beatles Rock 'n Roll Music
7 The Beatles Words Of Love
8 The Beatles Long Tall Sally
9 The Beatles Slow Down
10 The Beatles You're Going To Lose That Girl
11 The Beatles Bad Boy
12 The Beatles I'm Down
13 The Beatles The Word
14 The Beatles Doctor Robert
15 The Beatles Here There And Everywhere
16 The Beatles Tomorrow Never Knows
17 The Beatles Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kite!
18 The Beatles When I'm Sixty-Four
19 The Beatles Birthday
20 The Beatles Glass Onion
21 The Beatles Helter Skelter
22 The Beatles Happiness Is A Warm Gun
23 The Beatles Savoy Truffle
24 The Beatles I Want You (She's So Heavy)
25 The Beatles Hey Bulldog
26 The Beatles One After 909
27 The Beatles Free As A Bird
28 The Beatles Real Love

interesting, I'd never heard of it. But I think he was referring to collecting post-breakup tracks and compiling new beatles albums out of them.
