Thanks for posting this vid. When she kicks into the foghorn ending chorus, it can still give me chills. That's real vocal prowess! Not that "growling through the nose" that you hear other people do. Namean?

Dolly Parton still rules that song

Dolly's first recording of it is the best (she's done it about 3 or 4 times), but I do like Whitney's take on it. I like the beginning of the song much more than I do the bombastic, overdone conclusion but it's a good cover. This was a nice performance. It was around this point in time that I thought her behavior started to turn south.

Well dont feel too bad for Dolly she got the $$$ cause she wrote it, Whitney just got a crack habit. See Life can be fair. The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

Really interesting seeing her mother look so proud of her, hopefully she can have that look again if Whickney can beat all this shit...
DAMN that broad was AMAZING, her voice was just unstoppable. Who knows what it'll sound like once she's worked on it but I hope she can make some sort of a comeback... Prince was all into that Kenny G-ish sax bridge - how dare he!!

Well I for one, pray her drug problems are behind her for good and she really works on getting back to doing what she was put on this earth to do. Bless this world with her INCREDIBLE vocal skills.
No matter what you think of her personally, you can't deny the woman's talent!! You can put ALL of today's so-called Pop Divas with all their backup dancers, asses and titties shaking up against a cleaned and sober Whitney with just a microphone and she'll blow all their asses away like a weapon of mass destruction! Go 'head, Nippy! Get your shit together and do it for me just one more time!

I heard I Will Always Love You on the radio the other day and as many times as I've heard this song, I really heard it that day and I could hear how pure and beautiful Whitney's voice was on that song. For the very first time, the song moved me and I heard how powerful her voice was. I miss Whitney and I hope that she can find a way to regain even some of that vocal power that she had once she can get it together in her personal life. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Every time I hear Whitney's voice or see her sing as she did before, it makes my eyes water. It's terrible what the ills of the world could do to you, or what you let the world do to you. She was truly blessed and gifted and can't be easily imitated by anyone. It's very sad, she was super amazing. And as much as she'd want to be where she was, what's she's been through, I don't think she can ever go back. She's more like a memory, but I truly hope she makes better of herself [Edited 9/23/06 15:34pm]

Prince looks like he's fallen asleep. Probably dreaming of how good 'Purple Rain' would sound with a Kenny G sax solo. Props to Whitney also for the excellent snail shell 'do.
