Anyone read marilyn manson's autobiography? WOW
I lost alot of respect for him. I mean he was going to murder his girlfriend for fuck sake; he had it all planned out and everything. I only read about 40 pages off amazon so can anyone fill me in abit more. Some of the sick groupie stories? There's a bit where he says 'i hit her, chocked her and felt no remorse' but i couldn't read the rest because amazon wouldn;t let me. Was he talking about the stage shows he used to do where he was doing sick S & m with his gf. Smoking bones? Twiggy fucking guys? Any info plz preferably from manson fans. Please no ignorant responses from religious nuts; stay out if you aren't interested.

You shouldn't say you lost a lot of respect for him when you only read a few excerpts from Amazon. I would suggest to either buy the book or rent it. If anything it's very entertaining. After reading myself, I gained some respect for him. Who knows how much of it is made up, but it's good to see that he himself is actually normal. He has feelings a remorse, and acknowledges that he is an "entertainer" nothing more nor less.
And by the way, he didn't try to kill his girlfriend. Just read the book man before you come to any conclusion. And yes I love Mansons music.

co-sign. ffs, mike, stop being so gotdamned overreactionary on stuff, especially from a friggin book excerpt. find a copy of the book and read it all the way through. you'll be eating yer foot afterwards.

I also read it back in the day, and from what I remember, I think a lot of it was intended for shock value. I'm sure he made a lot of it up; Manson loves hyperbole, and I think that nowhere is this more apparent than in 'Long Hard Road Out of Hell'.
But it's an entertaining read, and probably is really cheap now. If you're a fan, it's worth at least a few hours of your time. I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

man, i feel a bit old now...i totally remember me and my friends being all super-psyched before long hard road out of hell came out. actually i borrowed the copy i read from a friend of mine--my dad hated the fact that i was a marilyn manson fan and didn't want anything manson-related in his house, so i snuck it in and hid it in my bookbag and would read it when my folks were in bed for the night.

You're what...24? 25. and yeah, i still feel old about all that. hehehehe...i still remember me and my dad arguing because i wanted to go see manson when he came to do a show in des moines--"you ain't going to see that satanist!!!" i didn't get to go see 'im, but i still remember seeing on the news some church group standing outside the front of the convention center the night before the concert, praying and singing hymns n'chit.

I loved all that Satanic uproar over Manson. It was like 1982 all over again. Manson's entertaining and his music is alright. A bit derivative, but so what? I think he's actually a pretty interesting person outside of his rock persona. Weird and probably smelly, but interesting.

Weird and probably smelly, but interesting. true. i still like his first two albums, portrait of an american family and smells like children. after antichrist superstar came out i lost interest--all the kids at my school who'd be all like "uggh, marilyn manson sucks!" and making fun of me and my friends all the sudden liked the guy, once manson's cover of "sweet dreams" started getting heavy rotation on radio and emptee-vee. it was like, "where the hell were you guys when 'get your gunn' came out?!"

I think that's when he caught my attention most, to be honest. I loved The Dope Show and I Don't Like the Drugs. I also love that creepy, messed up album cover.
