A few of you said you'd like to see Blondie make a comeback. They did a reunion CD a few years ago.Lead singer Debbie Harry does independent films these days. Her next movie will be "The Tulse Luper Suitcases",which also stars Madonna and Don Johnson. It is due next year.
Debbie Harry is BAD!!! Remember her 1980 song "Rapture"? I think she was the first woman EVER to rap on a record (Teena Marie was the second, with the 1981 release of her hit "Square Biz").

***Salt N'Pepa---They broke up several years ago,but there are persistent rumors that they will reunite.Salt completed a solo CD called 'Salt Of The Earth' in 2000,but I think it remains unreleased.I miss these girls! Hip-hop is no fun without them:( ***SWV (Sisters With Voices)---I'm happy to report, they are back together and in the studio working on a new CD!!! Lead singer Coco released a solo album 'Hot Coco' in 1999,but it bombed big time. ***Boz Scaggs---Last year,he released a new CD 'Dig' that is truly the best thing he's done since 'Silk Degrees'(1976).He deserves a second chance.

Actually, Angie Stone preceded them both, as Angie B. of the female rap group The Sequence. She recorded on the Sugarhill label in the late '70s. I often listen to a track she and The Sequence recorded with The Sugarhill Gang called 'Rappers Reprise' (1979). Like a few others, I would love to see a Patrice Rushen comeback. I would like to see Tom Browne funk things up again as well -- in or out of Jamaica.

Beautiful Day! That's right! "Pieces" know what they're talking about! What about Arrested Development's 'Everyday people', 'Tennessee', and 'Mr. Wendel?' They were among my favorites also... I also liked Ralph Tresvant's 'Sensitivity'.

I also liked Ralph Tresvant's 'Sensitivity'. Everyday People... "Excellent!" Although, 'Mr. Wendel'... drove me ... but I respect your taste Starmist7 ... "Pieces" are great supporter's. I followed Ralph Tresvant's briefly... 'Sensitivity' was good. After this thread ... I pulled out all my cassetts etc... and started reliving the past...... and I haven't stopped since. Isn't Keith Sweat coming out with a new one... , I love his music... although... live performances... I can do without. Keith Sweat is definitely a studio recorder, so be it! Beautiful Day!

Hey Freespirit, I thought Keith Sweat could actually sing, that's not good..., but what can you do? Just have fun right?
From Keith, I really liked "Nobody", and "Twisted". Hot songs! Remeber when everyone was 'sweatin' him like there was no tomorrow? Taking it back, remember: -Rebbie Jackson's "Centipede", I used to rock that song when I was little. -Rainy Davis "Sweetheart", (which Mariah did a remake of) -Cherelle's "I didn't mean to turn you on" -Laura Branigan's "Self control" -Irene Cara's "Fame", and "What a feeling" The songs you mentioned, and others are among many favorites I went crazy downloading as I sat down and tried to remember here and there all those songs I loved to listen to while I was growing up. It's nice to know someone out there feels the same way. Listening to these songs take me back and always make me feel better, even if they do, or didn't really know how to sing. You know what I mean... You're right! There's so much more to add the more you think about this... [This message was edited Sat Aug 31 18:39:14 PDT 2002 by Starmist7]
