that Stevie Wonder has been "in talks" with Paisley Park. Wouldn't that b something? He said Stevie, "among others"...take that 4 what it's worth. Love the great voices...yes to Simply Red, George Micheal, Boy George, Chaka Khan, Patti Labelle, El Debarge, Taylor Dayne...i need someone who can hold their own without being overproduced (MJ), who, at one time, did have a wonderful voice...now it's all grunts and he-he's. Stevie Wonder working with Paisley Park would be the bomb! A dream come true here. I think Stevie would have a lot to say on many levels when it comes to what's happening in the world. Shai Shai? Yes! Jodeci? No! Jodeci YES! Although K-Ci & JoJo material hasn't always inspired with DeVante back at the helm the reunion album could be nice. Been waiting on it like the Stevie one though. Maybe both are lacking the good material needed to impact...

Off the top of my head, Sly Stone. If ever he comes out of his shell with this music he's been stockpiling. I'd like 2 hear whats been lurking in his mind all these years.

Billy Lawrence - two beautiful albums that were criminally overlooked: One Might Say (1993) and Paradise (1997). I miss her and I want more music by her. She was last heard doing background vocals for Blaque's 2000 hit "Bring It All To Me."
Anita Baker - I know you're a mom and you got the kids and hubby at home, but you gotta bless us with another quiet storm gem. Rachelle Ferrell - Beautiful voice, I want more work from her. Yeah, I know about the "Individuality" record. Sade - No more 8 year breaks, I was in elementary school when Love Deluxe came out and I was in college when Lovers Rock came out. I don't want to be married with kids when your next record drops!

Dee lite.
Looking over the lists, the mentioned ones were good ones. Cyndi Lauper, Lisa Stanfield, Diggable Planets, and A tribe called quest. They were among my favorites a little some time ago. [This message was edited Sun Aug 18 23:19:49 PDT 2002 by Starmist7]

Little Richard James Brown Blonde Earth Wind and Fire Smokey released a new CD last year called "Intimate".James Brown is always in some kinda trouble with the law...lol...but I wouldn't rule out a new album from him.Blondie actually made a comeback CD a few years ago.Earth Wind and Fire are STILL working on a new CD,but at this point,I doubt that it will ever be released (they've been working on it since 1999!!).

A new Time and/or Morris Day album with Prince at the helm really needs to be released soon. Pandemonium came out in '90 and nuttin' since...??
Also, I'd like to see GMichael and TTD make a comeback but they both seem to be stuck in a rut of some sort getting their tunes out to the masses.

Jane's Addiction! (with ONLY the original line-up)
Cyndi Lauper (I think her music has improved sooo much over the years, it's too bad it's mainly ignored...) The Smiths (Morrissey SUCKS alone, and since 'they' seem to put out a "new" cd every year-Best of Smiths volume 18-they could at least give us some new tracks) The Stone Roses (one of the most important albums of my youth, all turned to shite over industry politics and arrogance) The Wonderstuff (some of THE BEST guitar-pop of the 90s... where have ye been???)

I just finished listening to her album... So emotional!!! Where are you, Nita, Girl??? COME BACK!...please? - SensualMelody...here is a cut and paste from my post a few months ago...talking about the holdup on Anita's latest album. Anita Baker actually had an album complete a couple of years ago. However tape equipments she rented from Zomba Recording Company was defective and it messed up her studio tapes from the recording sessions. She filed a $200,000 law suit against the company. She said she paid out a total of $500,000 for the tape equipment, to hire musicians, producers and songwriters. That's the last I heard about her. She was planning to go back and rerecord the album over again using her same personnel. Yes, she is a marvel of a talent. I LOVE HER!!! She is a rather jazzy vocalist with similiarities to another great vocalist, the late great Sarah Vaughan. In fact, The Divine One influenced Baker greatly. I like all of her albums. Remember in 1990, she presented LIL MAN with a special award on the American Music Awards. Funny when he came out and accepted the award, him and her were standing side by side...about the same height. I thought "Rules" from her album "Giving You The Best That I Got" should have been released as a single. Stellar song with nice arrangements (nice vocal arrangements too with Anita suppling great background vocals to her own lead vocals. COMPOSITIONS was very nice too. The sound quality on the vinyl version is awesome for this album. Brother 9/15
