Artists you'd like to see make a comeback

Here's a list of artists and bands that I think deserve to make a comeback.

***Pat Benatar---Forget about Pink and Sheryl Crow! Pat is the ultimate "Queen of Rock" and she deserves a second chance.Remember in the early 80s,when songs like "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" and "Love Is A Battlefield" were all over MTV and the radio? She has talent, attitude and a voice that STILL kicks ass after all this time.

***Lionel Ritchie---Ok,go ahead and laugh. But Lionel is one of the best songwriters of all-time.Take out that old copy of his 'Can't Slow Down' album (1983) and you'll be reminded of what a genuis he really is.It was kinda sad seeing him opening (!) for Tina Turner a few years back.He needs a strong album and proper promotion.

***Donna Summer---If Cher can come back with a dance hit like "Believe" and sell 10 million copies, why can't the original "Queen of Disco" make a comeback? Hopefully, her upcoming Sony album 'Angel' will do the trick.

***En Vogue---Remember their 1992 'Funky Divas' CD? After that masterpiece, their career went downhill. The latest word is that Clive Davis has just signed them to his label (J Records). We all know about his "Supernatural" success at making forgotten artists popular again,so who knows?

***Earth Wind and Fire---A few years ago,I would go to the clubs and the DJs would be playing the "September 99" remix and people would go nuts! Younger kids were jamming like crazy to that song.It would be nice to see EW&F enjoy success with a NEW album.Their music is positive and uplifting, and is really needed in these uncertain times.

So,let's see your lists! smile

Teena Marie has just signed with Cash Money Records. Her long-awaited new CD 'Black Reign' is due this fall. She has had enormous difficulty releasing it independently,so this is good news. She appeared on a local radio station a year or so ago and played one of the tracks. It was a duet ballad with an unknown female vocalist, the song is called "I Love Him Too".

LIMAHL and LIONEL RICHIE!!
Both talented artist but people tend to forget them easily!
It would be nice if George Michael could make one of those hits which is just played over and over and over again and again on the radio..like most of the 80's song he did!

Lionel Richie released a new album like two years back no? He's gone all "Euro Dancey". Anyway mine...

2Dawn just started a thread on him... "Sly Stone".

Although as his last great album was "Fresh" in 1973 there's no guarantee the old magic would still be there. The webmaster of an old Sly site was allowed to visit him and heard his new music and said it was excellent however.

I want Tony Rich to comeback too, hasn't released an album since his slept on classic "Birdseye" in 1998.

A new Seal album would be good too, can't think of that many artists who've vanished and I'm left wanting more...

Guns N' Roses has spent the last ten years working on a supposed "comeback" album.I say don't hold your breath!

Lionel Ritchie did do a new CD last year called 'Renassaince'.It's definitely not the right music for him (Euro-pop/dance).He needs to get back to his roots!

Terence Trent D'Arby definately needs 2 make a comeback in a HUGE way!!
Releasing a new CD in only 5 countries is no way 2 b recognized as the huge talent that he once was!!
Eye had 2 get the Wildcard CD from a freind of mine in Germany as it will never ever be released over here in the UK (due 2 him being unable 2 sever his ties with Sony UK). Also the only other place 2 buy it is on his new Online Store on his official website www.sanandapromotion.com.
He needs 2 release his new material worldwide, not just in a few countries!!

Wow...mistermaxxx said Vince Gill... dude, we have way 2 much in common! eek

Here's mine:

George Michael - His best album (imo) was "Listen Without Prejudice, Vol.1". The lyrics and the music...incredible. I'm still waiting 4 vol.2!

Kenny Loggins & Michael McDonald - These guys r like brothers, they write/record singles 2gether and r almost always on tour with eachother...they may as well join forces and just record an album 2gether! They could b the next Loggins & Messina! biggrin Their voices compliment eachother... it could happen.

Chaka Kahn - A voice that beautiful should never b silenced... I await her next venture.

Sheila E. - Please, u sexy latina... get back in the studio and crank out some more "glamorous" life.

The Jacksons - I've always looked 4ward 2 the albums in-between Michael's solos. It would b nice 2 have another..soon!

Tracy Chapman - The voice of reason...

The Bangles - I know they released an album this year, but it went nowhere fast. I'd like 2 see them hit with something, if anything, just 2 see Susanna Hoffs' beautiful eyes staring back at me in her videos... Mmm, Mmm, mmm. mr.green

Lionel Richie - Yeah, he's still got the voice... He used 2 write some killer love songs...what happened?

The Time - What time is it? omfg Time 2 get wild & loose! We need Morris pretty much right now.

DeBarge - The family...all 2gether again. They came out with some good 80's tunes...it'd b nice 2 see/hear them again.

Stevie Wonder - Of course...but 2 me, he's never really gone away. Still, 2 hear some new stuff from him on the radio would b very, very nice. worship

Well, I'll think of more later, I'm sure.

I did hear Londell say at one of the seminars
that Stevie Wonder has been "in talks" with
Paisley Park. Wouldn't that b something?
He said Stevie, "among others"...take that 4
what it's worth.
Love the great voices...yes to Simply Red, George
Micheal, Boy George, Chaka Khan, Patti Labelle, El
Debarge, Taylor Dayne...i need someone who can hold their own without being overproduced (MJ), who, at one time, did
have a wonderful voice...now it's all grunts and
he-he's.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

There isn't going to be a Vol.2. It is abit of a joke among GM fans.
IMO 'Older' was FAR superior.

It was a dream come true for me when the original Black Sabbath got back together in 1997. I never ever thought it would happen but it did smile

The best thing is that they were thinking of putting out a new studio album but decided that the new material just wasn't up to the standards of their original 1970's classics so they decided they weren't gonna put out some sub standard material just for the sake of it.

I admired that, it would have been so easy to have done it cos they knew it would have been a massive multi-million seller but they said no, it don't come up to scratch so we ain't putting it out.

I was also sorry i never got to see Blondie and then they too got back together; well the main 4 members is good enough. smile

Jane's Addiction. They might not, though, there are rumors that their bass player from Porno For Pyros quit or got fired and is now being replaced.
