You're being very generous with comparison between The Deele and The Time, because there were hardly any similarities in their music, style, etc. The Deele were more in the vein of groups like Switch and Pleasure -- namely, competent bands who could make a passable dance song and threw in some sensitive ballads. THE TRAFFIC JAMMERS, The Org's house band: VAINANDY -- lead singer; NAJEE -- bass; THE AUDIENCE -- guitar; PHUNKDADDY -- rhythm guitar; ALEX de PARIS -- keyboards; Da PRETTYMAN -- keyboards; FUNKENSTEIN -- drums. The only thing I remember from their first album getting any airplay was "Body Talk", which was an absolute jam. They reminded me a lot of the "Minneapolis Sound". On their second album, the jams such as "Can U Dance" or "Hip Chic" didn't get any airplay (at least in my area) and only the weak stuff like "Two Occasions" was played the hell out of. Of course, it was the late 1980s by then and people were liking more boring stuff. Babyface was much better when he was with The Deele. They put some funk in him. His solo stuff bores the living hell out of me. Andy is a four letter word.

Babyface was much better when he was with The Deele. They put some funk in him. His solo stuff bores the living hell out of me. Actually, their first album had another big hit: "Just My Luck",which was a good song.Got alot of airplay in my area in early 1984. Their second LP was released in 1985 and featured the hit "Material Thangz".My favorite song from this album is a beautiful slow jam called "I'll Send You Roses".Another song,"Sweet November" was later covered by Troop. Their third album 'Eyes Of A Stranger' was released in 1987 and contained the hits "Can You Dance","Two Occasions" and "Shoot Em Up Movies".This same year,Babyface released his first solo album.I'm surprised that you don't like it.The first two singles were uptempo: "I Love You Babe" and the excellent "Mary Mack".His obsession with ballads came much later.
