Many artists receive multiple AMA nods Mariah Carey, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Black Eyed Peas each up for three American Music Awards The Associated Press Originally published September 19, 2006, 2:12 PM EDT BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. // For more than a dozen artists, nominations for the American Music Awards came in twos and threes. I refuse to even listen to this Chamillionaire person based on name alone. It seems popular hip-hop's creativity these days doesn't go much beyond choice in name.

Alternative: * Artist: Nickelback, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers At least change the name of the category to 'modern rock'. Calling those artists alternative (especially Nickelback) is laughable.

I'm okay with that. A REAL "alternative" band would never meet any of their sales requirements anyway.

God, what are the requirements? Did nobody suck enough to be nominated? why do they say five, but then only nominate 3 in each category? they should just do like the grammys and nominate some obscure act nobody's ever heard of

The qualifying requirements must be about sales, where the Grammys are about quality (at least in theory) My Legacy
