Sly Stone new music on website

I never thought i'd find the place to hear new Sly music would be a website with no announcement "Hey this is new SLY Check it out!" . It's kind of a funky off kilter keyboard/percussive beat. It's embedded on the front page.

Let the track load and groove to it...

I'm no expert but I think that's Sly rhythmically breathing to the beat in syncopation. Wait a minute, I thought Pharrell and Timbaland did that first lol

If that's indeed new Sly, it's good to have a sign of creativity. Sounds kinda interesting too, certainly different.

Its got to be. I say new in *strict* terms naturally. It's funny that in his news updates it doesn't say a new project by Sly but Family Stone.

Is it possible that Sony owns the "Sly" name as well?

Besides, who knows how Sly sounds after more than 2 decades of not doing sh*t?

Interesting but it's not really a song, I hear Sly in it but the loop is excessive.

Just glad that he is doing anything, it's been too long.

He just needs a new sound library.

It sounds like Sly to me, and it sounds interesting (if repetitive). I do wonder how old or new it is tho, unless Sly's using old kit. But it's new to the public at least.

Who knows what drug-addled masterpieces lie in wait in the vaults of the Family Stoned?? cool

Come on, if it was anyone else, you'd all say it was shit. It sounds like shit anyway. Is it a recording of him having an asthma attack?

That shouldn't be funny, but it is. I was envisioning the scrape ice guy. Either way, I think that's the one major problem sound. All he has to do is switch that up. Well, that and the sustained keyboard part.

My guess/prayer is that if it is him, it's just the sketch of an idea to be developed later.

Thank you. what i should have said was "It doesn't sound like BILLY PRESTON/Sly.
and your right, if it was anybody else they would trash this. like y'all know what sly sounds like? This does NOT sound like Billy Preston who we ALL thought was Sly to begin with. ya'll funny.

You're right. The core of Senorita (JT) is only a small part of this.

That scraping/breathing apparatus sound is a bit distracting but outside of that, this little jam is more than many of the finished tracks out there.
A few minor adjustments and it would be the jam.
No. By today's standards, it would be 3 separate jams.
