Mint Condition fans ...

... either celebrate or lament. I'm still not sure which to do...

I feel like I've failed them somehow as a fan. I don't want them to head to Temptation-ville pasture.

i always thought they were famous enough to pick and choose. they should have enough fans for them to go on tour by themselves. i'd go sad

The problem is you'd need to be able to bring along (depending on the venue) approximately 999 to 9,999 friends.

It's only one show and it's probably a cool thing but you have to blame Mayor Dwight W. Welch for the cheesy promotion. Flyer is really bad.

The ones you really should feel sorry for are The Temptations.
They've got to follow those cats.

No, it's not the flyer, it's the fact that they have to resort to these types of gigs now. Wow. That's too bad.

I LOVE Mint Condition. A REAL band playing REAL instruments.
I would love to see them in concert. I have a dvd of a show they did in Washington, it came with the Living the Luxery Brown cd, it was slammin' guitar

I know, but it's not that bad of a gig...the city is having a concert and they want to appeal to the different generations. I'm sure they don't have to resort to this type show but the flyer makes it all seem more desperate than cool. Sometimes it's all in the spin.

I'm sure Mint loves that this thing is floating around.
Wonder what the poster looks like.

It's just a sign of how messed up the music industry is, but I'm happy to still see them working-they're a great band.

The next time someone wants to know what's wrong with music today? Show them that flyer.

I won't front: This is bad.

But it's not all lost until they start doing black exploitation stage plays or endorsements for a low-budget porn series.

Truth be told, though, I've never liked Mint Condition.

I appreciate their musicianship amid all the studio wannabes, yada yada yada... but I've just never "felt" them. shrug

At least they have a gig. Besides, bands can't be too choosey these days. Believe me, even if it's a small gig, it's still a gig, nonetheless. A PAYING gig. My old band did enough freebies to appreciate any gig that shells out some bucks. And believe it or not, some of these small venues actually bring out the real music lovers. And some artists (even big-names) actually prefer the more intimate crowds.

*Last year, the Whispers, Patti Labelle and some other r&b greats did a concert at a local park in a bad area of town. Some of the acts had bottles thrown at them by some ignorant teens who wanted to hear some hip hop...

You guys are taking this too serious....this is probably a gig that they took at the last minute...it's not even listed on their official site www.mintconditionmusic.com .They have/had some very good gigs lined up for this summer...the concert with Teena Marie the day before this gig will be nice..they played the Blue Note in Japan for a week...The Jazz Cafe in London for 2 nights is a very good one...The date in Dallas with Lalah Hathaway will be a very good gig...i'll check that one out.
