My favourite Wings song is 'Coming Up'.

As for that chart, there's some amazingly good stuff in there and it's unbelievably diverse... Country Rock, Funk, Disco, Pop, Soft Rock etcetera... It's really, really sad how everything sounds the same these days. It's almost like there's only four genres which you can be successful in nowadays:

Pop;
Dance;
R'n'B;
Indie Rock.

R&B? R&B was kinda killed by hip hop on the popular music scene, so it's pretty gone. "Indie rock" is popular, but real independent music has rarely had any presence on the charts.

I thought I wouldnt know much of this list but I'm older than I thought I was lol

I remeber seeing the clip 4 If you leave me now,sitting next 2 my parents...My dad loved it but he really loved Hall&Oates,Tavares,KC,Lou Rawls,EWF,BeeGees,and so I learned to like them to.

EWF are still one of my fav's and Lou Rawls!!What a voice!

Don't know the song from BLue Oyster Cult,never had a hit in Europe.

It's a classic 70s rock track. It was famously parodied on SNL by this guy...

If I counted correctly, In 1976 there were more groups and solo male artists in the top 40 and only THREE female solo artists: Linda Ronstadt, Diana Ross, and Olivia Newton John and ONE female group, Hear.

Today, 10 solo female artists (some featuring male rappers) and 2 female groups are in the top 40, which goes to show you that pop music is still male oriented.

#2 Fergie
#3 The Pussycat Dolls
#10 Nelly Furtado
#12, #31 Beyonce
#20 Cassie
#22 Ciara featuring Charmillionaire
#23 Christina Aguilera
#26 Danity Kane
#27 Cherish featuring Sean Young
#29 Shakira featuring Wyclef Jean
#35 Kelis featuring Too Short
#37 Janet & Nelly

That's what I love about the 70s.Back then,I was listening to music from so many different genres (rock,pop,disco,soul,adult contemporary,soft rock) and it was all good.I would hear these songs all on the same AM radio stations.

Heart (who weren't an all-female band anyway) were/are an actual BAND though that played multiple instruments, wrote songs, and some great ones at that.

The Pussycat Dolls, Fergie, Ciara, Danity Kane.... falloff Well, no comment.

It sure is still male oriented. lol Most of these acts are catering to male audiences because they look like they should be posing for lad magazines. lol

In current modern parlance, the generic term of "R&B" would also cover elements of Hip-Hop.

Yeah, I'm no fan of Play that Funky Music. In fact, I'd say it's one of my least favorite tunes; same goes for Disco Duck. You don't like the KC tune, huh? Are you that way with him in general, or just that one?

I'm generally cool with KC. But that's one that just doesn't work for me.

Maybe one of my favorite tunes out of that TK camp is basically a KC & The Sunshine Band tune with a different vocalist...

It's a nice song...fun,breezy,pop/rock tune although the chorus is kinda silly...

we got a Wham Bam,shang-a-lang
and a sha la la la la la thing
Wham Bam,shang-a-lang
and a sha la la la la la thing

but the verses are GREAT! If you like "You Made Me Believe In Magic" by Bay City Rollers,you will like this song.Both songs are similiar with the same feel.It's worth hunting down.Btw,the song is actually titled "Wham Bam Shang A Lang".
