random question - has anybody done an edit of Datura - splicing off the "dividing canaan" part - to use in a compilation? I'm making a "intro to Tori" CD for a friend, and I was thinking of trying that on Datura.
And it would also be perfect for the netradio, i think [Edited 9/30/06 20:03pm]

Oh, don't even start! You just had to go and quote my favorite song EVER. Check Amazon for upcoming Under Review VDV on Joy Division. This 70-minute documentary covers the entire career of Joy Division, one of Manchester and Post-Punks most respected bands. It charts the entire short lifespan of the group, from their origins in their days as Warsaw to the more well known incarnation of Joy Division. Features include rare musical performances, obscure footage of rare interviews and rarely seen photographs. Plus review, comment, criticism and insight from; Mick Middles, co-author of Torn Apart: The Life Of Ian Curtis; former NME and Melody Maker journalist, Barney Hoskyns; Ex-Mojo Magazine editor, Pat Gilbert; Manchester punk musician and author, John Robb; music journalist and author David Stubbs; and more.

And it would also be perfect for the netradio, i think I've never tried, but I imagine it would be a pretty easy one. Maybe I'll try a bit later.

Me too. Even songs that I usually don't much care for like "Leather", "Happy Phantom" and "Precious Things" are sounding good to me.

Thanks for the interview, Ganstafam! Fantastic stuff!!
I've decided I'm just gonna have to start selling stuff off to buy this. Also, I think I'll skip lunch for the next few weeks! I can stand to lose some weight! Whatever helps me save cash for this set!!! Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

Yeah, I walked into Barnes & Noble on my lunch break and saw that piano just sitting there on the shelf...well, it was hard not to commit a felony right there on the spot! Still, I'm being patient. "Me And A Gun" is the only track from 'Little Earthquakes' I don't like hearing, but I listen to it anyway. The album wouldn't be complete without it.

I listened to the first four discs at work this evening. Fantastic naturally, although the choirgirl songs being out of order kinda throws me. I really want to hear everything at home on the big stereo though. Two many new purchases and not enough time to hear them all! I still haven't gotten to the Gothic Box or the new Janet yet.

We've got a big new release coming out in the spring, and a tour. Maybe the most interesting thing to me was that she said "Me too" to the interviewer's comment that Choirgirl was his favorite. For some reason, I can TOTALLY see that.

That's true. It's even harder to get through in concert. I have a funny story about that and if I'm feeling brave, I might just tell it sometime.

I still want to post what I would've done differently. I know how I'd organize it, just not everything I'd include yet.

I love, love, love the vocals on "Not David Bowie", particularly when she says "And it is what it is". I don't recall ever hearing her sing like that before. Lovely.

The ones they were selling were the regular versions. In fact, they never even got the B&N version in their store! I don't know if this is currently the case at all the stores. She should've just gone ahead and made "The Beekeeper" a double album if she's not gonna release b-sides anymore. One disc about betrayal and the other about life, death, birth and love.

I figured 15 minutes after the store opened on the release date would do the trick, but there are way too many Tori fans in NYC. I immediately ordered the B&N edition online when I got in to work that day.

Oh wait, I do have Beekeeper too. I couldn't get into that album at all and I'm seein people sayin it was their favorite Maybe after I get more acquainted with the body of her work it might be different. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Question for the Tori Brigade: Do you know if rape victims identify with her at all? Does she fully represent that tragedy in her work or is it more symbolic? I don't know how she's viewed by those women. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740
