No. She's a rock and roll piano preacher.

That's a cool way of putting it. nod

I got the Rhino Gothic Box yesterday and that one sticks out a good three inches past all the other box sets on my shelf. When the Tori box arrives in the mail, it will be total anarchy!

I got the Goth Box as well - - - I adore it!!

It was so funny.. My partner and I went to Disney World this past weekend, and I had bought the Goth Box when it came out and put it on the iPod. On the plane ride there and back, and in the hotel, I was totally consumed w/ the Goth Box... all that dark music in the midst of "The Happiest Celebration on Earth" at Disney World, LOL. It worked out perfectly cool

I haven't had time to listen to it yet although I've already heard almost every song on there. Now that work has calmed down I can afford to spend some quality time with it as well as with the Tori box.

I went to Disneyworld a few years ago and I saw one other goth couple there. My ex and I were trying to 'keep it real' by only going on the really fast or scary or twisted rides. That's tough to do in Disney. The place is so goddamn happy!

That sounds interesting. In general I usually try to avoid box sets, but I think I'm finally sold on this one. smile

It's really something. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I might have to buy this. I've always been interested in Tori Amos. I listened to an interview and life performance she did on a radio station here in Austin. She very talented and quite articulate.

It's definitely a nice career-overview. You should check it out cool

Of course, I admit to being a little biased! biggrin

And Best Buy's price for this is really good right now.

this afternoon i overheard an employee at virgin telling another employee that there were only two sets left in the store. so, either they understocked or its selling well considering its size, price, and pop relevance. oh, and undented.com says barnesandnoble.com is sold out of the specialty boxes.

She has always and will always sell pretty well. We're a crazy lot. We have to buy everything.

I like rock and roll, pianos, and preachers. Maybe I'll check her out.

Definitely worthy.

Am I the only one who thinks it sounds like a template for the things she'd try out on Choirgirl?

I can see that. The very first time I saw her live on the first leg of the Under The Pink tour, she performed "God" with backing tracks because the band thing hadn't happened yet.

i don't know where it came from but it's skip free and pretty good
sounding at about 256 Kbps

of right now!

woot!

loving all those remastered and slightly tweaked tracks that
are on this release. even untouched tracks like "horses" do
sound better and more clear. are they remastered too?

the backing vocals in iieee becoming more prominent is a problem for me, i think... it almost sounds like 2 separate lead vocals going on at the same time... i don't know if it works for me. ah well, i'm sure with time it won't seem so jarring.

for me its all about the abrupt stop in the "iieee" chant followed by the accentuation of a particular instrument. and i love the operatic background voice coming to the forefront. the louder, heavier guitar.

fuck me. this bitch. eek

I think 1993? whenevr her first cd was out. She was really nice and funny too. she loves playing and writing music. very creative type and knew what she was gonna make it if she worked hard and was herself instead of what the music biz wanted her to be.
