No, it's not for every song. Just select ones from each disc. But there's quite a bit of commentary once you factor in everything she says about the albums. I've been compiling a comprehensive Tori quote list and these are some of the best yet! woo-hooo!!! Can't wait!!!!!

Got mine too for making them save me one at BB. Going to wait to open it until Sunday when I can light candles and have a proper ceremony. I am going to wait purchasing this, as I heard that Fame Music in Amsterdam will have a special bargain price on one of their special sales events. It's a 100 euro's now.
So, Isten. Just you wait; as soon as this is the case, I will buy two and you even will get an additional discount! Woohoo... And artists should put their b-sides on their sites for free, me thinks.

They charged me 54,21 euros at Barnes & Noble two days ago, all included (with the extra interview DVD). I preordered the day someone pointed here of the B&N special edition, like 2 or 3 weeks ago I thought it was a good deal Just pray it doesn't take too long to arrive

They're the best reason to buy a single though. I'm very old-fashioned that way. I wish singles and EP's were still central to an artist's catelogue.

But singles are becoming obsolete, so I am just wishing artist would be smart enough to at least tie fans to them by throwing them the bones, you know? No matter where they appear.

Yeah, at this point I'll take bonus material wherever I can get it. It's too bad about Tori though. Other artists are still able put out great singles. Bjork hasn't slowed down with her remixes and b-sides despite the trends. It seems that with Tori's change in record company they really cut back on her singles. At least she's managing to get her extra stuff out in other ways on comps, video releases and her websites.

I did a short little write-up for "a piano" on my website (www.bluespaceradio.com.)
I stayed up WAY too late listening to it last night... it's brilliant, but at the same time it left me wanting more. I would have loved commentary on every track. I also thought there wasn't enough attention paid to SW and TBK, and it really needed one more disc. But - for what it is - it's fantastic, and i adore it

Still, I'm glad to hear how incredible it is. The wait is murder, but I know it will be worth it! Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

GangstaFam said: As for the new songs, I'm really impressed. I wonder how many outtakes like this she has lying around.
With all of the known non-album stuff she does, the endless covers and improvs - I wouldn't be surprised if this is barely scratching the surface. Here's what I've heard so far... Peeping Tommi - *An "Under the Pink" outtake that would've fit perfectly on the 2nd half of the album. It has a similar somber tone to songs like "Cloud On My Tongue" and "Yes, Anastasia". It's just her and the piano like she does best. I really miss these kinds of songs from her. Seems to possibly be about catching her man with someone else, but secretly watching. I'm sure there's a lot more to it than that. Fire Eater's Wife/Beauty Queen - *An intro of an intro. But what an effective one! This would've set a completely different tone for the album. With harmonium as the primary instrument instead of the stark piano of "Beauty Queen/Horses", the song smolders and pulsates. It would've made the perfect introduction to her fire album. It's short and simple, but I love it. Walk To Dublin (Sucker Reprise) - *This is some hot sex right here! And she's rocking the harpsichord! It's all set over a super-low, funky piano riff. Think "In the Springtime of His Voodoo" but fucking crazed. "Do a Jig!" If you're a fan, when you hear that part I swear you'll be screaming. There's a little spoken part at the end about some drinking game. Well, she sounds totally out of her mind on this one so those lyrics are appropriate. Unlike most of the b-sides from that era, this would've made a perfect addition to the album. A reminder of why "Pele" era Tori is my favorite. MEGA YUM! Zero Point - *This one has probably been talked about the most among fans, probably because of its legendary status as an epic on the scale of "Datura". I can see the comparisons and she really should've included it on "Venus". It's chaotic and WAY tripped out like its sister song and a few others like "Juarez". And it borrows more than a few ideas from Björk's "Army of Me". It starts out and ends with just a simple piano motif and her singing about reaching "zero ground". Apparently, there's some serious religious/scientific theory at play here, but I haven't sussed it yet. Something about Dr. Nikolai Kozyrev's studies and our cyclical experience of time. Quite a strange song, but worth exploring. I'm glad it's finally out. Not David Bowie - *I've been highly intrigued by this song since reading about it in her book last year as Bowie is just about my favorite artist. It was a song considered for her last album "The Beekeeper" but left off for various reasons. Most seem to think that it has nothing in common with the rest of the album sonically or lyrically, but I totally disagree. It's driving, hard and confrontational which most of "The Beekeeper" is not. But vocally it shares a lot with songs like "Witness" and "Hoochie Woman". The subject matter is fitting with the themes of betrayal on that album. It would've been perfect right after "Barons of Suburbia". Many seem to think it sounds reminiscent of something off of Kate Bush's "The Dreaming". Dolphin Song - *Very pretty and very "Beekeeper"-ish. It works perfectly with the nautical themes and vibe of songs like "Jamaica Inn", "Martha's Foolish Ginger" and "Goodbye Pisces", all among my favorites. I don't know this song well yet, but I can tell I'm going to like it a lot, just based on the company it keeps. It's a sweet, whimsical thing. Intro Jam to Marys of the Sea - *Tori singing "Back that ass up!" Don't ask me how this fits with the song that follows, but it's hysterical to hear her sing those words. I was expecting something brief and maybe even instrumental. But this has words throughout and goes over 3 and a half minutes. It's really an independent song of its own. I don't know where I'd place it on the album, if at all, but it sure is entertaining. Ode To My Clothes - *Not sure which era this is from, but most experts seem to be in agreement that it's from "The Beekeeper", although the voice doesn't sound that new to me. It's a short little ditty that reminds me of the "Silly Songs" that she did for Pele. Just a bittersweet dedication to her old clothes that she's having a hard time getting rid of. Nothing substantial, but fun. Take Me With You - *Unearthed music from the "Little Earthquakes" sessions, but words and vocals done this year. It seems to be a twin song to something from that time, but I can't place it yet. And the new parts she's added to it are keeping with the sound and themes of that album. Even her voice sounds like young Tori on it. I'm glad she dug this one up and decided to do something with it because it came out very well. All in all, I'm digging pretty much everything here. I don't normally listen to things before they're released, but I just couldn't wait this time. I'm pretty sure all you Tori nuts are gonna love it. And there's only one more week to wait! [Edited 9/18/06 3:25am] That sounds interesting. In general I usually try to avoid box sets, but I think I'm finally sold on this one. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)
