Justin Timberlake Stole NPG band members! Did anyboby notice when Justin Timberlake performed On Good Morning America this past Friday he had none other than John Blackwell on drums and Mike Scott on electric guitar. No wonder his new CD sounds like Prince. Does anybody know if they are a permanent members of Justin's band? I'm ambivalent when it comes to Justin because, what would he be without the brilliant producers, songwriters and obviously talented musicians. Although his vocals are superb. "The fanbase I have now, they're so sophisticated, they almost expect me to do the unexpected." -Prince

JT didn't "steal" anything. It's called employment. It's very nice that JT employed the musicians, because sure enought Prince wasn't. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

just like singers with limited vocal range who use gospel choirs to make their songs sound "bigger"...great musicians will make Timbaland beats sound lame when played live

Ya know, I bought the album this weekend and played it a few tines, and I've yet to hear "Prince" in it. I was actually disappointed because I had heard so much hype surrounding this thing, and it's "aiight". I liked "Justified" better.
Anyway- neither Mike S. nor John B. are on the actual album. If you read the liner notes, most of the "music" just says "produced by "Timbaland". {disclaimer: My comments do not come from that "I love only Prince" point of view. I just don't dig it enough to compare it to Prince.} "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

It's nothing new. Madonna used David Williams and Jonathan Moffett on her tours. "The first time I saw the cover of Dirty Mind in the early 80s I thought, 'Is this some drag queen ripping on Freddie Prinze?'" - Some guy on The Gear Page

I heard one song on his album sounds just like Sexy MF, but I wouldn't buy it to find out.

You gotta wonder if they did that partially because they knew Prince wouldn't approve? Did Prince dump them? My Legacy

Funny, I caught a bit of this performance this morning. I compared it to Prince in my mind, not knowing who was in the band.
I was thinking it's not horrible, but there's no style to him at all. And people compare him to Elvis as being a faker, but Elvis was soooo stylish and what he did seemed natural. Justin really does seem fake. He seems nice, just fake & adequate at best. My Legacy
