Shirley Murdock Remember this chick from the 80's? She had a slow jam called "As we lay". I saw her cd in a record store and it looks soooo 80's which you all know I love. I think i'll pick it up late today. Did any of you guys have it? Could she have passed for a Prince chick? I kind of get that vibe from her.

LOL @ 'passed for a Prince chic'.
She's TOO bad to be under his broken wings, tell you that. Anyway, she's from the ZAPP/Roger Troutman scene, I think.

We're talking about a tuff sista here, not a chicken head.

Apparently, she had a sex change before Roger took her/him under his wing.

Actually, around 1986/87,there was a drag queen who was going around saying that he was Shirley Murdock. He snuck into award shows and got to meet folks like Tina Turner, who mistakenly believed his story

For some reason, I always pictured Shirley to be a heavyset woman, but she isn't. Don't know where that idea came from. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

She didn't speak to any of them and the family members got pissed at the real Shirley Murdock. Andy is a four letter word.

Habbadabba Zapp did a show here in my city . I spoke someone on a forum once who had access all areas , so back in the dressingroom he met Shirley ... while she had not performed during the show ! It was one of the few shows in my country and she never performed on 1 . Her debut from 1985 . Featuring Teaser , a nasty synthesized jam . And You're The One I Need , a great mid-slow jam with a jazz-edge . http://www.youtube.com/wa...c8WNJyRCAA http://www.youtube.com/wa...1VEIdd1cwY [Edited 9/13/06 15:16pm]

Hell yeah her first cd is the bomb. It really does remind me at times of groups like vanity 6, apollonia 6 or madame x! great 80's dance grooves.
