Today's listeners do not like anyone to have an individual look and a gay look is the last thing they like. Prince has both of those. The 1980s were the opposite. You had to be an individual and if you weren't gay, you sure as hell had better look like you were. Those were the good ole days....when men were women and women were whores. lol

lol falloff

so much truth in that....

maybe that's why the 90's was the decade of the Thug...just to wash away all fo the mascara and pumps the men were wearing in the 80s

The 1990s came along and just took all the fun away, not only musically, but visually as well. They started wearing these big baggy ass pants and then had the nerve to brag about their dick size. If it's so big, why are you hiding it so well? Hell, if you got it...(snap)...flaunt it honey. Talk is cheap. Put up or shut up. evillol

no man there will ALWAYS be whores lol

Nowadays, they are ho's. There's a difference. A whore is getting paid and getting paid well. A ho is doing it for an RC Cola and a Moon Pie. lol

Hello! That's too damn true. worship I miss the 80's and the indivduality the stars, when we had real stars, had back then. I miss hearing about an act and having that feeling in my stomach that they were going to be big and when they did blow up, it was so huge and spectacular, you could be happy that they became a household name casue they had the talent to kick your ass. We haven't had that in a very long time, at least from my point of view and it saddens me cause I don't think it'll happen again.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

'How Come Justin's SexyBack gets more respect from the mainstream than Prince's Black Sweat?'

Because he's young, pretty and white and being marketed to a young white audience. Justin is the stereotypical embodiement of pop. Prince never was. That's why it took twice the talent for him to get the same amount of attention.

You're totally right and it's a shame that the music business works that way.

But I'm not gonna knock the guy for making/working with producers/performing music that he loves. He's no different in that regard to any other artist and that's cool by me.

Why? Because Justin is 25, and Prince is pushing 50.

It sucks, but older acts get no love on the radio.

TOTALLY Agree!
I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

I think it's time for us to stop worrying about things like record sales and radio airplay.Older artists like Prince,Stevie, etc. have already proven themselves. They have left their mark.Let's just continue to enjoy whatever they have to offer. They don't need to,nor should they have to,compete with all the garbage that is dominating the charts these days.Let Justin have his moment of glory rolleyes let's see what kind of legacy he will have 20 years from now.

Justin needs to look at Lenny.

There's nothing wrong with admiring an artist and learning from them BUT don't imitate especially if the original is still around.
